Hi,

I just got my GVG and I'd like to try it today, however since I've already wasted 500mg of spice trying to breakthrough with the machine
I would like to know what is the best way to use a GVG. Of course I've got a torch light and I also bought ten additional screens.
Can you give me a few advices ?

Thanks Smile

For instance, should I sandwich my spice ? How much screens should I use ? How far should the torch light be ?

I use 7 screens, then a layer of mullein, then the spice ontop of the herb, then the ceramic bit. Hold the flame on the ceramic bit for a few seconds then start to draw in air, slowly. You will see a thick white cloud start to form, well then you know what to expect next.... If you feel that the vapour is too hot, then just pull the flame away from the ceramic bit, and vise versa.

EnjoySmile

If you’re interested in vaporizing pure spice (no added herbs) using a non-reactive metal mesh disc holds spice much better than multiple screens. Heat the disc slightly before putting spice on it, and the spice will melt right in.

Use a jet/torch lighter and aim it straight down toward the ceramic diffuser. When I started using the GVG, I inadvertently held the lighter at an angle, and most of the flame was directed toward the glass sidewalls rather than the diffuser.

I'm just tacking this on the latest GVG thread since it doesn't deserve its own topic. Is the axe pack worth the extra $20?

I just got a GVG today with the Axe Pack... It is a hard shell case and is reasonably protective. I think it was mostly worth the money; however, it is not like a fine case for a musical instrument. It is hard plastic and does pad and protect the device well.
Everything mentioned herein has been deemed by our staff of expert psychiatrists to be the delusional rantings of a madman who has been treated with Thorazine who is hospitalized within the confines of our locked facility. This patient sometimes requires the application of 6 point leather restraints and electrodes at the temples to break his delusions. Therefore, take everything mentioned above with a grain of salt...

I feel your excitement Very happy I'm ordering a VG next week. I'm not ordering a GVG just yet (though this will be definitely happening), but even the normal VG, to me; seems like a beautiful tool to use for vaping spice.

Peace,

Macre.

Well I got my gvg yesterday and all I can say is wow. Me and my co-pilot were amazed at the ease of use and smoothness of the vapor. I used 7 or 8 screens wich seemed to hold the spice well. As for changa in the gvg it worked quite well but you better flavor your blend because you can really taste the herbs and I think caapi tastes nasty. All in all a great investment.

I agree it does have a strange taste, but when you smoke lots of harmalas, and lots of caapi with spice.. it kind of becomes a taste you cant live without in a travel Smile

Weird, I taste very little caapi when vaping changa with my GVG, even when smoking the Changa through a bong, it is soooo smooth.

Now, blue lotus is an aquired taste, one im still to get to grips with.

I'm waiting for my GVG, it's in the mail Very happy
I didn't take the Axe pack because I thought it was so big. Really bulky. I don't want my pipe to take half of the space in my backpack.

After my first 10x caapi vine tea the taste haunts me. I never tasted it before in my changa until I drank the tea. Now the slightest hint is unmistakable. I have really great sense of taste and smell so maybe that helps me pick it out.

Dmtripper congratz on the purchase you are gonna be happy. I didn't spring for the axe pack either. I got the black velvet bag and its nice enough.

Yea, I just got the brown hemp bag. It has much more padding than I was expecting...I am quite pleased. I didn't see any pictures of it anywhere, so...

Really though, wow. The GVG is scarily efficient.
I do somewhat miss the taste of smoked changa...something is missing in the vapor.

Scarily efficient, brutally efficient, shockingly efficient – pick your term. They’re all accurate descriptors.

Pure spice in the GVG has no taste at all (unless my sense of taste is going), and no aftertaste, and that’s the way I like it.

If you miss the effects of harmala alkaloids, try pre-dosing sublingually prior to using your GVG. 10-15mg of Caapi Copy or THH about 20 minutes beforehand is quite nice.

The 'chore boy' mesh with several screens works very nicely. One time I put 20 mg of harmala FB on top. This FB vaporizes at a fairly high temp compared to spice, so I ended up vaporizing the harmala FB and then what little spice was down in the lower part of the pipe vaporized... what a nice light airy ayahuasca like trip that was for 15 minutes.

Should the ceramic piece be glowing when you inhale?
And how is it to vaporize changa in the GVG? If vaporizing changa then how many screens should I put in there?
