Best Way to Clean a FASI on limonene Options

I read IceHouseShaman using water to clean FASI limo fumarates by
adding H2O and then spearating the top layer Limo.
Then drying the water.

Is this step necessary or a good idea?

IF one is going to keep Fumarates for oral would further clean up be necessary?

If one was heading toward water re-x freebase ala Endlessness recent Demo ,
would one want to clean up any remaining Limo?

I am asking because I haven't seen much reference to follow-up after FASI from Limonene.

I'm guessing for pharma one could just patiently evap any trace of Limo from Spice Fumarates and not worry about it.

If the cold IPA wash is not getting rid of limo traces, you can clean up the fumarates by recrystalizing with IPA. Make sure your IPA is dry, and then warm it up and dissolve the fumarates in it, and then put it in the freezer for at least 2 days, and the fumarates should crash out. Dont throw the IPA away before weighing the final product, because it happened once to me that some fumarates had not crashed out. This should really clean up any remaining limonene

As for the OP's question if its really necessary, not really, but you can do it. I have ingested fumarates that had limo smell and had no problems. The fumarate I recrystalized in that thread also probably had some limo traces, but I think its soooo little that it wont affect the conversion

And considering that Limonene is sold as a vitamin supplement with dosages of up to a gram, then i certainly will not worry about it unless I want smokable spice.
Then it seems the water re-x after basifing might be the way to go.

BTW, when you say Dry, does 99% IPA constitute dry-enough?

yeah 99% should be fine, but if its an open bottle that has been standing for long, it might have absorbed some moisture from the air, so you could dry it by mixing it with salt/sodium carbonate/magnesium sulfate, and decanting the liquid away from the solids that settle on the bottom
