The sun is the origin of everything.
There is a method to cure almost any desease: Staring at the sunrise or sunset for 10-15 minuites daily (just in winter, in summer walking outside is fine. At the start increasing the maximum time by 10 seconds/day.)

The idea is, that the sun is the ultimate source of energy. Energy of the mind and energy of the body also.
That is the reason, why certain people are able to live on water only.

light -> raw vegetables -> cooked vegetables -> meat

light is the ultimate energy.
The highest "frequency" of energy, the highest form of energy.

Maybe that is the reason why some religions are directed to the sun as a god.

Let's start discussing.

Daily sun exposure positively impacts my mood. Smile

Never had the guts to wake up early enough to sungaze.

There's a FASCINATING (free!) e-Book called "Lifestyle Without Food" by Joachim Weirdin. Even if you DON'T necessarily agree with everything she says, the cognitive process she uses to arrive at her conclusions is very worthwhile to anyone exploring DMT, IMHO. Her catchphrase is, "I am the Consciousness and everything else is my creation." Love it!

Experience has taught us that when we avoid the sun for drawn out periods, we get sick.

Science has shown us that sunlight causes our skin to produce Vitamin D.

I believe science will continue to discover amazing things about the sun and its relevance to our race and nature as a whole.

weird i just read a theory about that when the universe created the first suns, they would create all the elements for life needed, and when they would go supernova they would explode with every element known. Eventually this would create other pieces of matter and throughout billions of years the process would create planets. (soo... planets/life and all 'matter'= created from suns going supernova long long ago.)

which would fundamentally mean we are all light at the very source.
wish i could find the article, it was much better articulated then i feel like typing.

Im sure the sun does have healing properties. I for one am a sun 'worshiper'

There were some studies done a while ago that proved that people cannot survive on water and light alone. While it is true that pure consiousness may choose to experience itself as infinite love and boundless oneness, pure, brilliant white light, it is NOT true that a person can survive on sunlight. Check your beleifs: Staring at the sun will not heal you, most likely just damage your retinas.

Energy is only useful if it can be transformed into something that serves us. We do not have chlorophyl, we do not have do photosynthesis, so how do you think the sun energy is being used?

Sure its obvious having a little sun exposure in general is healthy, as TheReadyAwakening mentioned about the vitamin D. But thats very different than saying we can live on sunlight only, which is a very wild claim and dangerous to suggest (and disrespectful for all the starving people in the world). Also though you did specify 'sunset or 'sunrise', I still think this story of staring into the sun not very prudent..

And remember the whole UV problematic issues about the sun so I dont think one can generalize 'the sun as a healing source'

I think THE healing source is being healthy and balanced in general, eating well, exercising, having some sun, trying to have balanced relationships etc... For some a bit more sun might be healthy, for others they should cut down on their sun exposure. I dont think there is a fixed ideal plan here, it all depends...

In The Book of the New Sun by Gene Wolfe, a certain race exists that introduced chlorophyl into their blood and uses the sun as their sole nourishment.
If only.

Even if no scientific support exists for the sun as a healing source, a spiritual affect may have some impact.
There is the power of the mind over the body and the possibility of healing where current science is completely baffled.

I don't think its out of the question.
Vitamin D may go a long way, but I feel the sun has more effect on our wellbeing than this.

I agree it's a great source of energy. Are you familiar with the series of yoga postures known as the Sun Salutation? I feel the morning exercize you mention would be much more powerful in combination with 5 Sun Salutations. It's a great runner's stretch as well.

I also agree with Eden's assertion that there's more to the Sun than Vitamin D. I believe we have a vast intelligence residing in every cell of our bodies, and this intelligence knows very well how crucial the Sun is for our individual health and species-wide survival. That's why the Sun feels so good, and why people in Sun-deprived cultures (recalling my life in the north in the dead of winter with 7 hours of gray sunshine a day) seem so depressed. Then again, there's a solid body of evidence suggesting that light boxes mimicing the sun's rays do indeed cure the so-called winter blues.

On the other hand...I dunno about this whole "living on water alone" business. I think the plants do work with the sun that we can't do, and that's necessary for production of nutrients we require...but I don't know the exact chemistry involved.

I live off the sun. I am also a breathetarian. You see, I sit in full lotus and open my third eye chakra as the pranic energy raises and the solar rays are like cosmic nectar that I soak up. This allows me to survive off of the sun alone, and my breath. I no longer eat or drink water. I feel like batman or something.

See, Fractal, I would have totally thought you were being facetious, until I read your irrefutable conclusion:

Quote:
I feel like batman or something.

The sun works wonders for uplifting mood.

Our sun exposure also dictates the way we produce melatonin... Twisted Evil It does impact the pineal.

We will be onto something if, one day, you find me panicked in the chatroom screaming, "GUYS!!! GUYS!!! I JUST WENT OUT IN THE SUN AND STARTED TRIPPING!!! I THINK I'M HAVING A PANIC ATTACK!!!!! I CAN'T CALM DOWN AND THERE ARE NO RICE OR BEANS FOR ME TO EAT!!! OH MY GOD!!! PET ME!!!!!" (I'm on it. Wink )

Edit: Although, I wouldn't really put the above post beyond the scope of Fractal's magical powers. Smile

I 111% advocate changa in the sun (in a safe setting).

There is nothing quite like watching the vortices in the sky open~
