After running an extraction on MHRB, I finally got some spice and had some friends over. However, most of the spice was too dirty and I had not had time to re-crystalize. As a compromise, I had used some weed and heptane to scrub out my glass-ware which had spice residue on it, then let the heptane evaporate off, so I had some weed-changa. I thought that would be a nice introduction to the DMT feel.
I had no idea how strong the resulting experience would be. Also, I had done a couple bumps of k shortly before, so that likely colored the experience. I used a normal glass pipe and lighter, packed a bowl, and took a hit. I tried to hold it in as long as possible. My lungs notice the difference immediately, and I had to stop myself from coughing the smoke out right away. After about 15 second, I exhaled and surprisingly little smoke came out of my mouth, since I felt like I'd taken a big toke. I noticed what I assume is the distinctive dmt-flavor/smell on exhale.
I felt high but not much more. My vision seems like it was getting a little screwed up, kind of a cross-eyed feeling. After another 10 minutes, I took another hit, similar to the first, again blew out surprisingly little smoke. I'm used to using a water bong for weed, so am not used to a glass pipe and they may have added to the seeming harshness and my difficulty getting a big inhale, independent of the dmt.
About 5 minutes after the second hit, I noticed a complicated green pattern on a blanket was suddenly looking super cool and three dimentional. The visuals were sort of reminiscent of shrooming or other tryptamines, but somehow more pure. Usually, other tryptamines come with a serious inebriated sensation (shrooms often make me feel drunk and in kind of a stupor in addition to the psychedelic aspect). This was very clear-headed, though. Just clarity and cool open-eye visuals. I liked it.
Convesation flowed very well, I may have been wittier than usual and more open. After about an hour, I noticed I was hungry and decided to "whip up" something for myself and my vegan friends. I retired to the kitchen, selected various things out of the fridge, and decided on making a pasta. Over the next 45 minutes, I cooked like a Top Chef, amazing myself in the process. I had three burners going at once, made a salad, timed everything very well, seasoned everything very well, invented every dish from scratch, and it all turned out wonderful. What really stood out was the efficiency of my decision making. Every point I had to decide whether to do a, b or c as my next step, I would instantly make a decision and move on. It saved me a lot of time. I made a mistake or two, then figured out how to incorporate teh mistake into the dish so it all worked out. We had pasta with a carrot-tomatoe sauce topped with mushrooms and yellow squash, a salad, and polenta fried with a touch of brown sugar, some tofutti cream cheese, and roasted yellow peppers.
I have never read about DMT being a "smart" drug, but it definitely had that effect with me. I was quicker, more decisive, and more confident than I can ever recall being in the kitchen. Normally, cooking as many different things at once and trying to get them all to be done at the same time is very stressful for me and has me feeling very tired by the time I am done, but this was relatively effortless.
When we were done, we went outside and my wife was taking some pictures. I asked for the camera since we do not have enough pictures of her or our friends, and I started taking pictures and I did so with a very artistic mind-set. I think I got some amazing shots. I was thinking about lighting, angle, framing, mood, etc. (I think I had another hit or two after dinner and before taking the photos, and probably another couple bumps of ketamine.)
Every so often when I shut my eyes, I'd see very faint, closed-eye visuals of extreme intricacy and beauty, but these moments were brief. I'm very interested to see what the visuals are like on a stronger dose.
In the end, I'm not sure how much this experience owed to the ketamine or the weed, but I'm very familiar with both, so I think it was the dmt that largely created the flavor of this experience. I really loved it as a mild and trippy cognitive enhancer.

Weed can sometimes work against a coherent DMT experience, many users claim that it clouds their memory of what happened. I also don't know about using K beforehand since I'm not sure how that should affect the trip. What I can tell you is that you had an extremely light experience. Do not underestimate the spice just because of this first experience. Let me warn you that the full spectrum of all things that can happen when using spice is unbelievable. Try using the leaf bed method or some other method of smoking next time, but do be ready for anything. Remember to accept whatever comes and to surrender to the experience - trust in the experience and trust in yourself.
I look forward to hearing about your next experiences with spice! =)

Interesting report but I'm not sure how much of your experience you can really attribute to DMT. Ten minutes is a long time between hits and 5 minutes is a long time to notice effects after your last hit. I think combining it with other drugs makes it harder to be sure what effect the DMT itself is having on you until you're actually familiar with the DMT experience. Then again depending on the drug it can cloud the experience or potentiate it. Not too familiar with ketamine myself so I can't comment on that.

Well, the visuals from the blanket pattern looking 3-d was definitely not something I would get from ketamine or weed, and I did not notice it for at least a few minutes after taking a hit, but perhaps I just had not yet focused on that yet. The visual distortion could have been there from the moment I took the hit, but just was not noticed until I turned my attention to how things were looking.
I did it again last night and again got something I can best describe as a shimmery quality to reality, a bit of extra color, extra shine and extra dimension, some mild closed eye visuals. I also got some nausea -- a weird, buzzy, ticklish nausea -- but I think that may be because I had a rather heavy meal right before smoking it (bad idea). I again felt "smart" and had some insightful reflective moments. Again, though, I had done some k-bumps (a nightly habit) so that was also part of the experience.
I would also point out that the spice I extracted ranged from white to tan to light brown and, thus, had some impurities. Though I plan on re-crystalizing the darker spice until it is white, this weed-changa was created by rubbing the weed against the glass containers containing the spice residue. Thus, this weed changa is more a combination of weed and jungle spice than it is a combination of weed and pure dmt. So that means part of my experience may be attributable to psychoactive substances in MHRB other than dmt.
So, anyway, I cannot say for sure how much the "flavor" of my experience was from dmt, but it was certainly different than doing ketamine and weed alone (a combination I'm very familiar with), and I definitely liked it.

Sounds like an amazing experience. In the future, try an herb like yerba mate or parsley that's easier to hit without the harshness. Most people take several big tokes of spice in a short time so as to get as far as possible before tolerance sets in, but a light journey can be really enjoyable as well, especially as an introduction.
Do please be careful with that K. It's been linked to long-term health problems and memory issues (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/8362575.stm).

I don't think you got any jungle alkaloids unless you pulled with something other than naphtha.
Typically my low dose DMT experiences give me a really buzzy feeling in my head, and everything is moving drastically. I don't see how you could go several minutes without noticing it, constantly shifting patterns reminiscent of a very strong LSD/shroom trip, although the DMT visuals are much prettier. You should smoke a proper dose of some of your whiter spice and see how it goes. To me it seems like you're getting a placebo if anything.

Well, I never said I got a "low" dose of dmt. I don't know how much dmt came off per nugget when I scrubbed my glassware, nor do I know whether my smoking technique may have destroyed or failed to activate what dmt did get infused on the herb. It could very well be that I got LESS than a "low" dose -- i.e., a threshold dose at the very edge of noticeability. I also have not read how k interacts with dmt, so that could have a suppressivve quality.
However, it is definitely not "placebo." I've been doing psychedelics for over a decade and have done over a dozen RC's, including various tryptamines, and I know when something feels different.
I'm also curious why you think I could only pull dmt with naptha, no matter how warm it was or how discolored the final product was. Are you disputing the various posts claiming that hot naptha is less selective than room temperature naptha and thus pulls a broader spectrum of alkaloids? What is your explanation for what makes my dmt tan or brownish if NOT other alkaloids?

One possible explanation would be small amounts of mhrb juice stuck to the bottom of the container you're evaporating/freeze precip'ing in, even a tiney little spot of it will discolour the whole batch, try pouring it off into another container, it should all stick to the bottom of the first container, repeat until the bottom of your container's crystal clear with no impurities at all.

When using hot naphtha people tend to pull more oils and fats, as well as DMT, which is why your spice was a different color. There is no way you pulled jungle. You need a stronger solvent like xylene to be able to pull the other alkaloids in MHRB. Try recrystallizing your product to get some purer spice

Oh, I guess I was confused about terminology. I did not understand a distinction between the other "oils and fats" and the "jungle" spice. I had assumed anything being pulled other than pure dmt was considered "jungle."
I do agree it is possible some MHRB got into the final solution, based on my failure to adequately rinse my separatory funnel between steps, particularly as to the darkest batch (though I thought I was more careful on the other batches and some of them came out distinctly tan).
Well, I look forward to recrystallizing and, when I get a pure product, smoking some powder to get the true feel of DMT. Then perhaps I can opine more knowledgeably about how much of this ketamine-weed-changa experience was attributable to the DMT (if any).
