hi. I was just wondering what kinds of plastic are acceptable for tekking with naphtha, since naphtha may react with plastic. I was thinking of using tupperware because I believe a bigger yeild may be achieved when using a container with a larger surface area. So just wondering if naphtha will eat up the tupperware, and contaminate the product? Which containers are unnacceptable for tekking? THANKS!!!

whenever you want to know about material resistance to some chemical, find out what exactly the material is made of ('tupperware' is not enough.. what kind of plastic is the particular tupperware you want to use made of? HDPE? PP? etc... ) and then google 'chemical compatibility' or 'chemical resistence chart' and find out. Remember to look at the chart from at least a couple of different sources to be sure. Naphtha should be equivalent to heptane/hexane (in case thats what it says in the chart) or maybe also it will say 'aliphatic hydrocarbons' which is also equivalent

Mason jars are cheap and easy to find. Just don't drop them lol some plastics will work but you can't go wrong with glass. -Close your eyes, See the light, and feel the sunshine in the shade

you can always just scrape whatever you can from the mason jar and use alcohol/IPA/Acetone to redissolve whatever you couldnt reach, and then re-evap in a wide glass dish.

or freeze precip, strain, scrape, and then whatever you cant get, redissolve and use it in your next pull.

I would go for freeze precip and forget evapping, just clean whatever you get.

Don't mix organic solvents and plastics. You dont want plastic contaminations in your spice right? Or the vessel to fail and leak everywhere. Just use glass or HDPE.
