I had something happen to me last week that still has me baffled and amazed. Something is going on, as things are becoming more clear, and I am manifesting my own reality in strange ways...
Last Thrusday I was heading to my father's house for dinner. I normally leave around 5pm, but left at 4:45 to get a birthday card for a friend. Getting the card took longer than expected, and when I left the Mall, there was a huge backup to get on the freeway so I decided to go down the back roads. I came to the frist intersection, and thought about going forward or right, I chose forward. Came to a second intersection, could go forward or right, chose forward. Third intersection, right or left, went right. Fourth intersection, could go left or straight, went straight. As I was driving, I chose before I got there to go down 5th Ave (the most direct way) but for some reason when I got to 9th Ave. I turned down it. A couple blocks down I barely made a light. I crossed over some train tracks, and right as I did I saw flashing lights in my rear view mirror...a police officer pulling me over?!?! What had I done?
He comes up to me and says, "Your driving was fine, but you have a broken brake light so I'm going to give you a fix-it ticket." So I give him my liscence, registration, and proof of insurance. He asks me if that is my current address on my liscence and I say no, but it is my permenant address (my fathers). So he goes back to write the ticket.
As he is doing this, I ponder the chances and choices that brought me to that place at that time. I could have gone any number of different ways, and actually made 5 conscious choices of which way to go, all of which taken together brought me to that moment in time where the cop got me. If I had made even one of those decisions differently I would not have been in that place at that time to get the ticket. Such a bizzare set of choices.
As I'm pondering this he comes back and gives me the ticket. He was one of the nicest police officers I have ever encountered, friendly, polite and putting out good energy. He asks me if I have ever had a fix-it ticket before and I say yes, but it has been a while so could he refresh my memory. He goes over it and tells me I have until July 20th to get it taken care of. That was weird, my father's birthday is July 20th. As I drive off, I am thinking how strange. A fix-it ticket, that needs to be taken care of by my father's birthday, and the strange set of circumstances that led me to that moment in time. I am now thinking if the date was significant so that I would notice it and would have something to fix by that date (other than the brake light), or if it was refering to my father specifically, and that I was going to have to fix him somehow...or if it was all some strange bizzare coincidence (I don't believe in coincience, so though the thought was there, I felt there was something more to it).
I get up the next morning, and get ready to go back to my fathers to take him to an eye appointment as he won't be able to drive afterward. I was planning on leaving at 9am, but for whatever reason I left at 8:50. As I pull out of my garage in the condo complex I live in I see a police car parked in the road leading to my condo...a police officer is outside standing with a man and talking on a cell phone. As I drive by I notice it is the EXACT COP who gave me the ticket the day before. He recognized me, smiles and waves, and I do the same back.
Now I am convinced that there is something that I am going to need to take care of, and suspect it has to do wtih my father. I drive over to his house, and when I arrive he is very upset. I ask him what is wrong and he tells me that his girlfriend's son just called him and told him that she had suffered a sudden cerebral hemorrage and is in the hospital, they are waiting for all the children to arrive and then they are going to pull the plug.
This is the
exact same thing which happened to my mother two years earlier...
My father had talked to her around 5pm the previous day, and apparently right after he got off the phone with her she suffered a sudden blinding headache and called 911...right at the time that I was being pulled over for my brake light the day before.
Now I know what I am meant to take care of, and it has nothing to do with my car...
What, you ask, was the beginning of it all?
And it is this...
Existence that multiplied itself
For sheer delight of being
And plunged into numberless trillions of forms
So that it might
Find
Itself
Innumerably.
