500g MHRB Extraction Options

Hello all,

So it's been done a couple times before - extracted Dimitri from MHRB with the following recipe:

750ml Tap Water
50g MHRB
50g NaOH
50ml Naphtha

The naphtha was pulled off the top and allowed to evaporate in a pyrex dish, leaving the yellowish goods behind. Although this method is not perfect, it has done the trick.

Now it's time to bulk it up and the plan is to use 500g MHRB. Who has the perfect formula for doing this much? I expect the ratios of MHRB/NaOH/Naphtha to change a little bit with larger quantities.... or no? All comments are much appreciated.

Do you really wanna go all out?? WHy not go for half of this size??

If you've only done a few extractions, you may not wanna do this just yet...awful lot of problems if something goes wrong, and you're trying to salvage shit.

The maths is pretty easy to do, if that ratios has worked for you though dude, to bump it up to the next level.

I agree. Maybe do two lots of 250g because if you do mess up you won't have lost it all. As for the ratios, just keep it as is. 15:1 water to bark is what i use for an STB.

I suggest throwing your solvent in the freezer to crash out your crystals (make sure your solvent is fairly saturated). You are left with a more workable substance opposed to the goo left from evaporating. Also, you can recrystallize the goo by dissolving it in shot glass with warm naphtha or heptane. Leave the plant oils stuck to the bottom, then pour the naphtha (now containing only spice) into a new glass container and throw it back in the freezer. Hope that helps.
