Vibrasphere is incredible, the fluidity within their sound is absolutely epic!

You have to see this animation made by a Russian man called Aleksadr Petrov. This is simply amazing. Luckily it has a good soundtrack. Pleased Use the 480p.

Ya, Vibrasphere is quality period. Seen them live many times (well only Rickard since Robert won't fly and I've never seen them in Sweden). Definitely a favorite.

All progressive trance is very agreeable, as well as tech house, tribal and minimal techno, but somehow I always find myself coming back to full power goa trance / psy trance (even though I could write essays about how horrible it is).

For almost 2 decades now, it just keeps coming back into my life. I drift away, IT brings me back. I dance, I trance, I dance. All over the world, and back home again, I dance. The global psy community never ceases to amaze me. The places I've found myself boggle my mind. I can't count the number of times I've danced into sunrise on the side of a mountain, a beach, the desert, the jungle, as if waking from an active dream looking around the dancefloor in the early light wondering "where am I this time?" and laughing. Japanese freaks all around me, I must be in Japan. Aussie doofers all around me, I must be in Australia. Russian hippies all around me, Ukraine this time? Frenzied saffas everywhere I look, how long have I been in South Africa?! It never ends. Shanti space pixies offering me mangoes, fuck I'm back in Goa. But it doesn't matter because someone always spots that humorous moment of awakening and slaps a giant hug on me with that knowing look on their face. Family. Psy is existence audified. There is no sense to it. There is NO reason to like this music. There is NO reason for this music to even exist. But when the day comes that it grabs you, you're hooked for life. Work work work, travel travel travel, psy psy psy, another decade goes by. It's so faaahhhking weird. Serious mind rotting may occur. Proceed with caution.

Anyway, enough of the stupid rant. Sorry. Haha, but that's what gets me through life. Psy as the background to my life when I'm stuck in Mundania (aka: real world) keeps me connected to those dancefloors and gets me through until I'm back.

Labels that float my psy fancy:
- Parvati Records
- Zaikadelic Records
- Peak Records
- Auraquake Music

Artists that have and continue to rock me:
- Ajja
- Ovnimoon
- Para Halu
- Penta
- Kindzadza

I put this one here partly because of the video. Smile

Was touched by this one:

Rokia Traore sings the moving "M'Bifo," accompanied on the n'goni, a lute-like Malian stringed instrument with a soulful timbre.

A release from 1998, still to this day hits a cord within me.

Murcof Ulysses is an intriguing music video, highly arty but entertaining.
Needless to say the music is just genius.

I'm a huge STS9 (Sound Tribe Sector 9) fan. Although their live shows are the crux of this band, I also thought the "Artifact" album, which is much slower and peaceful, was absolutely fantastic.

The Notwist - Neon Golden... I love this album. Something about this group really hits a contemplative spot in me. It's quite mood-setting. Unfortunately, I thought their newer album, "You + Me, the Devil", wasn't special at all. I don't even listen to it. Most people seem to feel the same, as the album got terrible reviews. "Neon Golden" is great. Also, their album "Shrink" is quite good.

Recently I've been listening to a lot more electronic music. I took Shpongle, who I love, and began searching for other music similar. I ended up finding Carbon Based Lifeforms. I think these guys are great! It's usually quite soft, but intensely atmospheric and spacey. As a matter of fact, if anyone has any other good music similar to CBL, shpongle, younger brother, etc... please let me know of it.

Obviously, listing all of the music that gets me through would be impossible Smile. But, I felt I should chime in with these.

Try shulman, banco de gaia, welder, tipper (not really the same, but interesting - tom waits electronic style!!), eat static, entheogenic, Ott, Hallucinogenic "in dub" album by Ott (amazing!!), and maybe hallucinogenic as well, although this is Simon Posford's (shpongle) more dancy stuff.

hope that helps!!

JBArk

PS added CBL, STS9 $ notwist to my grooveshark playlist and am listening to them now. THanks!!
JBArk is a Mandelthought; a non-fiction character in a drama of his own design he calls "LIFE" who partakes in consciousness expanding activities and substances; he should in no way be confused with SWIM, who is an eminently data-mineable and prolific character who has somehow convinced himself the target he wears on his forehead is actually a shield.
