I am blasting off for the 2nd time next week, and I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice on what kind of things they do before a journey? It's been made apparent to me that the beings give you much more when you have no lights and no sound whatsoever. But before hand I feel nervous just typing this, it blew my whole reality out the window. I plan on doing some yoga and meditations on light/chi cleansing and on my 2 friends I recently lost. Maybe burning some sage and incense. I journey because I need to know whats on the other side of those curtains again, but I want to pray for Answers when I know surrender and acceptance is the only option really with something this alien. Or is it? Ah, Dimitri, you make me ask so many questions!

in my opinion rituals are personal. If an act holds no significance to you then it will have no effect. If you decided that an act will help to guide you then it will. That being said certain influences on average tend to be better than others. A room that is nice and peaceful with a pleasant smell and sound will tend to be more pleasant in hyperspace but this is quite obvious. I would recommend you trying and creating your own rituals until you find one that suits you. I can tell you from my own experience that my ritual has evolved from simple to complex over time and is continually changing. Certain incense, music, lighting etc makes all the difference but that difference is determined by my own mind so no one can define it for me.

Good luck on all of your excursions and pay attention to what makes each one special. It wont take long to discovery and refine your own technique.

Nice thread.

I tend to burn incense and listen to some music lightly as I am preparing (I even tend to have music playing during my trips). I almost always smoke a little bud beforehand to slowly introduce myself to a little dissolution and then I sit Indian-style for about 5-10 minutes, breathing deeply and thinking about what question I want to address. (I believe sitting Indian-style on the ground is very important, as it allows you to "let go" much easier. You are literally as grounded as you can get and if the experience obliges you, you can crouch your head down and "go inward." A picture that shows this pose well is the following, called a weeping Buddha: http://www.amazon.com/We...arving-5-5/dp/B000KJZJNO

At the end of my trips, I often find myself in that exact position, with my head in my hands, crouched forward. It is as if it allows you to just "melt" into your surroundings.

This being your second time, I would devote about a good hour to preparing for the trip and another hour after it to let it truly sink in. Just sit there and think. Let whatever is on your mind out and let your unconscious just manifest whatever the hell bubbles out of it. Most importantly, don't resist any of the visions. You give negative visions more energy when you let them know that they make you afraid (because YOU are manifesting them); you must be acutely aware during the entire experience that it is, in fact, just an experience. DMT can trick you; that is it's primary quality as a mind-blowing substance. You will learn with time how to control what you manifest, but at first, just try to let whatever is beneath your psychic surface out, because, chances are, they are going to come out anyway. Any psychic build-ups that you have; be it problems with your parents, a significant other - anything; it's going to come out during your trips. DMT is essentially a device that systematically clears the skeletons out of your closet until you are ready to be revealed the throne of God, that which lies within your mind; the gateway to Eternity. When you get there, you will know that you have truly broken through...

I think that it is important that you go into the experience with an intention, otherwise you may be toyed with by the entities, or you may have nothing at all happen (this always depends on how much you take, obviously). If you prepare yourself with a question, or even just some sort of mantra, chances are you will have a trip more directed toward yourself and not necessarily have it be so "alien." You probably haven't seen them yet, but when you do, don't give into their machinations, that is, of course, unless they are being nice. Laughing Most of the time they just feel like playing around.

These are consciousness-expanding plants. They are going to magnify whatever lies in your consciousness; especially your unconscious. Chances are, if you take enough, you will experience complete and utter ego-death. This will lead to the entire apocalypse of your psyche; everything that was previously unconscious is immediately made available to consciousness and the experience itself can be so overwhelming, that we all too often miss the entire procession due to our complete and utter shock. This is why so often people who smoke DMT will come out of it and say, "I don't know what happened, I can't even really remember it." It is like a dream and yet, it is much more than a dream, because you are entirely awake and your Self is left untouched; in fact, it is the first time you will ever experience your true Self.

So, yeah.

Laughing

Good luck, be careful, and let go.

That, and take huge hits.

Laughing

I have found myself getting a little too into my ritual. It has gotten to the point it takes me a few hours to steady myself and do all the bits I feel I "need" to do. I think this is mainly just OCD on my part. I think you just need to do whatever you need to feel comfortable, clear your mind, set your intentions and go. As soon as I breakthrough, I wonder what all that anxiety was about anyway, and come back weeping with joy and gratitude.

I think by reading too much into it you create a situation where you need to do more and more to be "ready" I am going to work on reducing my ritual, not getting more involved with it.

Peace and happy travels bro.

Clean, attractive blast-off space. SWIM calls upon her guides in a specific order, always including a crossroads god like Ganesha/Eshu-Legba/Hermes/Thoth and then finally the spirit of the specific blend she's working with that day. Establishes her intention as Changa has taught her to do. Blasts off.

I Clean up the room I am going to go there in. I've started placing pattern blankets in specific spots especially covering my tv a little OCDish it seems...

I like the patterns as I come out of hyperspace and it is a good way for me to be able to tell when the entire trip has ended..
I take roughly 15 minutes and listen to binaural beats and meditate. Typically I am then very calmed out and ready for the experience.

My swim takes plenty of time preparing, making sure phones are off, no expected visitors, cleaning the room, relaxing, then a nice hot shower and onto a soft mattress, either no clothes or just loose fitting soft cotton shorts, listens to his heartbeat a while, listens to his emotional state. He never feels quite ready for it, but gets as close as he can, then then raises the pipe and if its right.....all else is out of his control, yet very good.

Peace

SWIM would recommend having someone around to help you if needed. It never hurts.

Hey Remapped,

Although your questions are many, they are good ones. There are already some great answers on this thread, and I may not be able to add anything to make it much better since the others before me have done such a good job with their replies.

It has already been said that your ritual must be your own, since if it is devoid of meaning, well... it doesn't really help, does it? I can tell you what my friend does in his words however:

"I always begin by cleaning my apartment. I make everything nice and tidy, vacuum the place, wash dishes, make my bed, etc. This serves to enforce the fact that I respect what I am about to undertake. I then take a nice warm shower and make sure I am very clean (again, having to do with respect), wearing loose clothing or a robe that I received as a gift from the middle east (chuckles) when I am fully dry. Next, I but some soothing music on, specifically Indian classical music and/or meditation related. I then light many candles all over the house, and begin burning incense (Nag Champa, Palo Santo now that I have some). I load my bong, and take it with me into my bed where I sit cross legged by my window, observing the city and sea below. I then begin deep breathing for 2 - 5 minutes, all while repeating to myself mentally that this is what I want, and that I chose to smoke DMT. Then, I light up, and smoke away, focusing on the bowl and letting everything else in the periphery go out of focus. Once I feel that I have taken a substantial dose, I close my eyes while holding it in and let myself be taken away as my sitter takes the bong out of my hand. After it is all done and over with, I sit silently for some time and review everything that I saw". - friend

I hope some of this information helps you on your journeying. Take this very seriously indeed, but in my opinion, do not get to obsessive about the ritual. Good luck my friend, and safe travels!

And remember, no matter where you go, there you are.

thanks alot for the replies guys, I feel like I am mentally ready to go this week. I am done mourning the loss of my two close friends, and on to acceptance. I think this is the same approach I have to take with spice, because even thinking about the utter alienness and shattering conclusions that place made me go to last time is enough to make my hair stand on end.

however, I need to get another glimpse, and take back what I can, I feel like it is required of me. I have always been superb at explaining things and I really hope to have an amazing write up which I know I will. There were some great comments about simple ways to center myself and intentions to go into my experiance with, much gratitude for that. I "have" pure white spice and I am guanenteed to breakthrough, I just need to drop those bits of ego and fly into that dimension knowing my higher self is guiding. its great knowing I have people who can relate to all this. I'll have an epic report within this week, Knowledge and Gnowledge surely are a heavy burden, especially in our case. Love and Respect all
