I was just wondering how one goes about determining the purity..... well not just purity but how to determin what one might have is DMT or what its concentration is. That is if this is able to be done from the home lab. Thanx!

Well, if you KNOW you have spice, then the only home purity test I'm aware of is by judging the color. If you extracted from dmt-containing material and followed the appropriate directions for such a process then what you have is dmt. As for concentration it should be damn near 100%, color will indicate the presence of impurities, but even colored crystals are somewhat close to 100% pure. One of the reasons the Nexus so emphatically suggests extracting your own is in determining the purity of product. It's really the only way to know, without a real lab. PK Dick is to LSD as HP Lovecraft is to Mushrooms

I'll just echo what's written above:
Extract your own and you'll know. Follow the steps you find outlined here. Take your time and don't look for shortcuts. If you do this and follow your tek to the letter, what you have will be 95%+. Take a few additional steps and you can bump that to 98-99%.
If you buy it, on the other hand, you'll never have any idea, and you'll be contributing to the commodification of the experience, which no one here supports. Extraction is an integral part of the experience. Take it seriously, put in the time and effort to do it right, and one of the greatest mysteries of your lifetime will unfold before you.

My question in no means is for determining street value purity of spice. To be honest i have never seen nor heard of it on the streets, further more The Monk has no intrest in "selling" such a thing. Its not only a hobby but an art to extract, not to mention smoking it is some what of an art. Friends that he has shared this most wonderous substance with have asked about buying and he cant stress enough that its not to be bagged and priced.
As far as my wanting to know about purities it wasnt so much how to tell if what i have is pure, i know what for the most part what im doing though i am always learning and constantly reading. What i want to know is how you can tell what alkaloids a plant or fungus holds or is that just something completely beyond the scope of the home alchemist?
