SWIM has a gorgeous Mimosa tree growing in his front yard and was curious if Mimosa Hostilis is the only strain that is DMT containing or if it just has the highest concentration. Also if MHRB is the only containing is it just as easy to grow as any other Mimosa tree?

Mimosa seems to be the most commonly available, reliable dmt source that is easy to extract from, but its by no means the only plant that contains DMT.. What mimosa is it that you have in your front yard?

MH growing depends on your local climate.. How is it there? Mimosa naturally comes from a dry area that doesnt get too cold, but its also a very tough plant. It needs to get older and with stronger roots to support adverse weather though.

You can always get some seeds and start planting if you can, at least it wont hurt

It's not the only species of mimosa that contains DMT. It happens to have a lot of it, though. My recommendation is to get someone to identify exactly which species of tree you have... Unfortunately, the common American "mimosa tree" that grows everywhere in the south isn't even a part of the mimosa genus, it's albizia julibrissin. It has some ethnobotanical properties, but as far as I know having tryptamines is not one of them

Warm is definatly not an issue, humidity can be but i imagine its quite humid in brazil. I will definatly be getting it identified tomorrow. It grows tall and spindly and wide and puts off some rather beautiful purple flowers. As far as what contains DMT i know just about every living thing contains it just in diffrent quantities and yes hostilis is definatly the most abundent with ease of extraction which is why i was curious if all mimosa has a high concentration or any at all.

Brazil is a very big country, including humid areas yes but the northeast where mimosa is from is not at all humid, its like semi-desert, bit like savanna kind of climate. But I have a friend growing MH in tropical humid area and its growing fine. As for all mimosa having high concentration, nah, gotta see which mimosa in specific. If you take pictures and post or even better talk to a botanist or some kind of specialist to identify, only then one can really know if you got something worth extracting or not

well i havent recieved any hits on whether or not this is a DMT containing strain soooooooooo ima harvest some of the roots and see what i come up with.

That's pretty much what SWIM did. They have a friend who has a bunch of massive mimosa on their property so they did a small harvest from one tree to test the waters. At the end process of the naptha evap and have some crystals forming so there is definitely something there. Just have to let it finish evaporating to test it out.

A little tip on the harvesting... It's a lot of hard work to get to the roots and keep them in tact.
You'll probably end up messing up a lot of the grass around the tree.

You might want to take a shovel and take up the grass first and set it to the side.

Instead of going for the main tap root, go for one of the roots that extends horizontally and follow it through.

What I mean by follow it through is dig up the ground above it until the entire root is exposed and then cut it off.

I'm sure there is some kind of resin you could put on the severed root to help with the trees healing but I'm not sure what would be the best. (suggestions?)

Also I heard that it's best to harvest the root bark when it's relatively dry out to boost alkinoids and to help with the healing process. (Less chance of fungus infecting the tree)

Remember, the goal is sustainability! We want to keep the trees alive for many many years of happy harvesting.

to keep the root fresh: Cover the cut off end with a VERY DAMP towel or paper towel 2 or three times around, this will keep it a bit fresher, though you do want it dry so theres no point really..

Well im gonna assume that is a picture of a Hostilis so im gonna say no. The pictures i posted of the purple flowers are my tree and they look nothing like a Jurema. I havent gotten around to testing the roots yet but i will soon, and as soon as i do ill report with what if any yields.

Nah its deffinatly not jacaranda. The trunk of that tree is waaaaaaaaaaaaay diffrent. Oh well one day soon ill have the time to set aside and find out. But if anyone knows for sure id head out in the yard right now lol.

Its just i was wondering if any news or new information weather or not this plant contains anything special?
They are plantedeverywhere around my home. It is a beautiful tree. Still keeping my fingers crossed.
