So, from my first extraction of DMT, acquired some gunky jungle spice.

Turn on In the Rowans by Balmorhea http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUOxoWOIVhQ
4 Big hits. Room is quivering, manage another two, and ask sitters to close window and turn off lights.

Dont remember anything until:

Red beings, with humanoid bald heads dancing, singing, out of several holes in random places. Everything is on an orange canvas. There is a beautiful female being, who is humanoid in body shape, covering her breasts with her hands, dancing too. The beings engage in the most intriciate, heart-melting singing and expression of pure emotion I have ever experienced.

Their attention is on me, however, I am a spectator, I cannot communicate with them. However, they seem pleased, happy to be able to reach me. They send their love to me, waves of warmth pulsating from them.

(duration approx. 5 minutes)

A chat log about the trip:

Yengu says (7:37 PM):
closed my eyes
everything was red.
then
BOOM
holes opened up, organically, smoothly, in my field of vision
from there, loving red entities emerged
still half in the holes
dancing, singing, transmitting their love to me
it was the singly most beautiful experience of my life
I was their centre of attention
Yengu says (7:38 PM):
but I was a spectator even so
Then, the benign entities left
slowly
dancing away back into the vertical holes floating on an endless red canvas
and everything turned dark
then,
evil beings came
made from shades of oily films
Yengu says (7:39 PM):
trying to drag me, as they were being dragged away (end of the trip was nearing)
they were scary, evil, malevolent
I tried to communicate with them, saying "take me!" (or thinking that in my head) but no response whatsoever
Yengu says (7:40 PM):
i felt pulses of loving heat 10 times as hot as the core of the sun flowing across my body, up from my stomach to my chest, a warm, melting feeling
and yeah then it was over
^^

So was this a breakthrough? It felt like I could have learnt more, it didn't feel insightful.
Following the experience there was a very mild headache.

I smoked Dimitri's pole twice more since then, however, I was with MJ so it was very cloudy. Seemed like a waste of Dimitri, though, so will not repeat with MJ.

It definitely sounds like a breakthrough to me.

As to the 'insightfulness', it is always insightful. The problem lies in our own ability to steady our minds and remain open and aware of all that is being shown to us. This is something I have also noticed with ganja, I'm less able to forget myself and become an observer. I highly recommend avoiding ganja prior to a DMT experience (unless you're smoking your spice on top of it in a bubbler or bong).

As to the headache, I would attribute that to the jungle spice, though don't quote me. Usually plenty of other chemicals (not all alkaloids) are extracted as well and could have resulted in a small headache. Or it could have been a random, ordinary headache brought on by smoking. Only way to know for sure is to smoke some more of your spice =)

This reads like a breakthrough. Your doubts must be based on the fact that the experience is different for each person and your breakthrough may therefore not fit the description of some of the posts in the experience-forum, that you've read.

Breakthrough is a term used for experiences that are so overwhelming that they simply eclipse normal counsciousness.

Your story sounds like this was very much the case.

Interesting. It stills feels as if there is more to explore though. Luckily enough, Ive got plenty of MHRB lying around.
