The molecule kicks my ass, so I normally like to drop onto my back and make sure I have a warm and comfy blanket nearby--total surrender.

A little while ago, though, Antrocles posted about holding certain half-lotus meditation postures while in hyperspace. I felt recently compelled to explore the power of this on my own. Yoga in the afterglow is AMAZING, but I wasn't sure I had the grit to actually keep my body upright in the heat of things. Last time I attempted with Ayahuasca, I was knocked on my back and went straight to the Akashic Records. Razz

Anyway, I managed to hold a posture, and actually received adjustments. My hands were in the thumb-index finger circles, which felt like antennae being tuned. I experienced energetic grids produced by certain postures that were not normally present in regular loafing postures; and, felt the presence of entities that can only recognize us by these greater coherent energy fields generated by these postures.

So... any experiences or wise words concerning great ways to sit? Smile

Thanks!!

My most profound meditations occurred either half lotus or lotus with my palms pressed and my head tilted down, eyes looking up and closed.

Kundalini yoga will teach you bhandas [locks] you can practice for extra soulular blooming capabilities.

The sphynx position was also a good one.

oh one other thing i forgot to mention - to get the teaching i had to put my hands into a certain form - i think its called a mhudra or something - seen similar things in hindu paintings.
Iv been shown these hand formations before on fungus - very functional for energy manipulation.

For a long time iv noticed that my favorite visionary position is forehead to the floor.
recently i have been thinking about this, muslims also like this position it seems.

with changa I always sit down cross legged in meditation. Its the only way that seems to work for me..when i come back I usually find my body gently swaying back and forth rythmically to the music.

With oral tryptamines i can also it in that position for a while in complete ecstacy..but once the visions really set in I need to lay down in the dark.
Long live the unwoke.

i like to take a small blanket out to a wide open with field/outdoor area with absolutely no one in sight and find a nice flat spot where i can lay on my back with my arms out wide and my legs spread...

sort of like this : only not with my arms facing up, but straight out to the side while laying on my back facing up, with my eyes closed. completely flat.

in this position you are fully submitted to the forces of gravity like a magnet stuck to this giant spinning sphere we call earth.

it makes me feel like im being completely dissolved into the earth when i smoke spice in this position.
All above posts are absolutely fictional and have nothing to do with actual reality whatsoever.

I've so far been with ms_manic_minxx on this one, total surrender with a necessary blanket on hand. The effects of different positions sounds superb, though, will try soon!

Usually SWIM will sit cross-legged and will sort of "nestle" the toke by crossing his arms tight around his torso and bending all the way forward, tucking his chin, while holding it in. This position helps him remain very internalized when he wishes to and also keeps him warm.

I switch back and forth between laying back and cross legged, but sometimes i feel like auto pilot takes over when i get entranced and i find myself folding into all these different weird yoga positions i've never done before...

Its almost like each position allows you to tune into a different place or frequency...

half-lotus works best for me (smoking) ... I was instructed to do this while Inside. It seems to enable better navigation

yes!

i am very active on my journeys. my hands raise and my right hand turns into a wave with ring finger bent..my left hand is just gnarled...my mouth is WIDE open...my left leg makes perfect circles through the air occasionally then all the way through to my toes...sometimes they put me in these...sometimes the sheer beauty and awe of the experience makes me move like that...ive also felt like ive communicated in one way or another this way. much love!

Interesting! I mean greater may end up a lil subjective, but very interesting that it makes a difference. Perhaps the origins of these positions and their creators knew something about consciousness and energy and molded these postures accordingly hmmmm!

i have two that i use almost exclusively.

if i feel really strong and focussed and ready to 'work', i'll sit in full lotus with right hand in a mudra (thumb to forefinger other three fingers straight up) about mouth level. almost as if i am holding the end of a really long moustache straight out from my face. my left hand is in the same mudra but laid in my lap palm up. in this position, i become a satellite dish. it is my perfect frequency and if i can focus deeply on a center, a light seen with my third eye, what happens is pure divine connection to the source of all consciousness.

if i'm feeling like i want to have a deep healing and completely surrender to that profound healing energy, i'll starfish out on my bed with a cozy blanket over my torso. if feel like an amoeba with no capacity to even conceive of the idea of 'fear'. i've gotten good at surrender in my time with DMT. this position always feels healing/integrating/nurturing for me where the lotus feels tutorial.

upright: working, being taught, learning.
starfish: being loved and healed.

yep, that's pretty much my m.o. Smile)

I tried it sitting in the lotus position the other night. Aside from spilling my bong, it was probably some of the best experiences i've had so far. I've been feeling compelled to do strange hand movements recently too, when I looked it up it's almost like i'm being taught mudras or something similar:

A light that will anoint thee
A sign from the subconscious
An angel sent to guide me
The searching will be over
The call will now be gentle
