Actually I can understand your sentiment, Omega, but I think your reaction is way too extreme.

Please don't be offended by my frankness here: you may well seem to think you're enlightened, but to me you sound like a teenage boy having a temper tantrum! Read on though, I'm not here to bring you down and I'm not your enemy...

Life is indeed very cruel as well as beautiful, and it can be a shock to realise the existential absurdity of it all and the apparent stupidity of some people who have not realised that they have been conditioned and have not learnt to question their animal instincts before acting.

Let go of your anger, and be wary of being seduced into arrogance. You would I'm sure be happier if you work on your negative attitude. Check out Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy by Dr David Burns MD for how to change your negative thought patterns, because you're not seeing it all from a balanced perspective. You're generalising somewhat- not all people are ignorant, and some of them are certainly more 'enlightened' than you. If you treat people better, many of them will treat you better in return. Not all, but many. Whereas an attitude like yours will not be welcomed and your view of other people will become a self-fulfilling prophesy.

Your likening people to insects as if being an insect was a bad thing shows you have little regard for the life of your fellow beings. Do not lose your empathy for other beings, insect or human. I expect you were as ignorant as the people you despise once. Would you despise a child because it hasn't yet learnt what you think you've learnt? If so, then you need a psychologist. If you must be arrogant, at least think of these people you despair at as children rather than insects!

I would like to hear about your project, it sounds interesting! In the '60s a lot of people rejected society and built themselves little huts in forests, on mountains, etc. Look into the autonomy and ecology movements.

I avoid many people too which is partly why I can understand your sentiment, but I also actively seek out good people to interact with, and when I have to deal with people I don't want to be dealing with then I try to be civil and courteous. I was very angry at society as a teenager too, a bit like you.

I hope you learn to deal with your disillusionment soon. Life is a trip too, be like water and let if flow, don't waste energy resisting what you can't control Smile

Everything I write is fictional roleplay. Obviously! End tribal genocide: www.survival-international.org Quick petitions for meaningful change: www.avaaz.org/en/
End prohibition: www.leap.cc www.tdpf.org.uk And "Feeling Good" by David D.Burns MD is a very useful book.

Have you ever heard about the distinction between mahayana and hinayana?
It is not something that can be explained easily and i will do much of it wrong by symplifying it, but in budhism, mahayana stands for the discipline that seeks to relieve to world from suffering. The mahayana budhist will extall his own enlightenment if that could help in bringing relief to the world, while the hinayana budhist will isolate himself as much as possible from all earthly matters to reach enlightenment as fast as possible.

In reality ofcourse, each practices a bit of both.
The true inspiration of enlightenment lies in the mahayana philosophy, but it will need the disciplined way from the hinayana aproach, if it's ever to lead to the enlightened way of the vajrayana. 'Hinayana' stands for 'the small path', 'mahayana' for 'the wide path' and 'vajrayana' for 'the undestructible way'.

Welcome to the Nexus. Hoping you will realize the delusion before doing much harm to yourself and others, as I did. Best of luck.

I dunno about your physical body getting weaker and smaller, but I'm not Razz

By the way, this is clearly the best sentence on the internet: "I have risen above the cattle of humans and that I have become something else" LOL. I also love: "People are like insects to me now".

Welcome to the nexus!

This is the sort of self-aggrandizing rant I might have undertaken when I was 15. BEFORE any hallucinogenic experiences.

May I please recommend compassion?

I can understand being frustrated at the state of affairs in the world. I held a ceremony with a friend for the first time two nights ago, and one of her most astounding revelations was, "This is NOT how things are supposed to be!!"

But, as far as feeling separate from others who commit acts of insanity... Next time you meet with the medicine, I suggest making a strong intention to focus on *love,* and explore your relationship with yourself. Were there times you have ever looked down upon or felt disappointed with yourself? Are there things either now, or in your past, that you have internalized from another place, that negatively impacted your relationship with yourself?

Once you wholly learn to love and forgive yourself, it becomes much easier to relate to other people this way. We are all human. We're all on this planet together, and we have the power to help and guide each other.

The first bit of advice I was ever given with Ayahuasca was, "Love everything you touch." Funny thing to try and accomplish when I was working a job I absolutely loathed at the time, but sometimes unpleasant circumstances can be excellent training grounds for growth. Pleased

Focus on the good and it will grow! Smile

Good day to you Omegabrolly.

If youve read the replies to your post, you will note that many respondants have surmised what the nature of your 'project' is.

I would personally be happier to hear from you as to the nature of this project rather than just guessing.

So could you possibly enlighten us all as to what your project entails?

Your reference to people as cattle has some similarities to the philosophy of de Sade, Nietzche and also Nazi philosphers such as Alfred Rosenberg-and PLEASE dont think Im accusing you of Nazi leanings because Im not.Im just keen to know a little more about your plans so I can put your 'rant' in some kind of perspective.

Take it easy!!
I am paranoid of my brain. It thinks all the time, even when I'm asleep. My thoughts assail me. Murderous lechers they are. Thought is the assassin of thought. Like a man stabbing himself with one hand while the other hand tries to stop the blade. Like an explosion that destroys the detonator. I am paranoid of my brain. It makes me unsettled and ill at ease. Makes me chase my tail, freezes my eyes and shuts me down. Watches me. Eats my head. It destroys me.

Love, indeed.
I was critisized by someone for my post in this thread, since it apparently seemed i went off topic to start promoting budhism, but what i tried to say is in fact close to what miss_minx is saying: Compassion is an essential part of the enlightened being.
A true enlightened person is able to show compassion for even the worst of his enemies, if he has them.
Alienation from the world and from yourself and thus reaching a state of total detachment is not the same thing as enlightenment and can even turn into the opposite.

A good example is ofcourse celibacy as practiced by for instance the catholic church: The idea of being able to say 'no' is ofcourse a good thing since it means that you are no longer a slave of the passions. Hiding away from everything that might envoke the passions within you, means being the opposite of their master, though. And often you see with people chosing for such a lifestyle, that if they do get confronted with any feelings they're not supposed to have, they're totally enslaved by them and they'll jump on the nearest victim that can serve as an object for gratification of the lusts that they're supposed to be the master of.

Same thing for people who're on a diet or who want to stop smoking: if you want to stop smoking, have cigarettes lying around in your house, so you can learn to say 'no'.

You need to be able to find the right way between being involved and being too involved in things you cannot change anyway.

Enlightenment can not be reached by hiding away from the world. It lies in dealing with the world as it is, in the right way.

Can't say I agree completely with your current philosphy regarding the human race.

I cant wait to hear about your project.

I have a feeling just about anything you post will, at a minimum, generate some entertainment value.

The first time I undertook the journey to the other side I felt as though I was awakening from a dark dream that I had been a part of all my life. I felt a great deal of sorrow for others in this world still lost in the dream. I wanted so bad to shake them and wake them up but I knew they would not accept it. The dream is safe for them and they fear the dispelling of the illusion they have become so accustomed to. I understand what the OP means when he sees the human race as cattle. I just think he should have stated it more clearly.

This revalation changed my view on trying to encourage others to following a path of conscious evolution. I understood why some people actively placed their spirituality in a leader and simply followed without thinking about it too much. It is a safe and comfortable lie, and I would be a liar if I were to say dont envy them. My life would have been much happier and easier following without having the burden of seeking the truth. If a person is ready to take on a journey not just with spice but with any spiritual practice they will find their way and they will be receptive of advise from others. You cannot force a person to take that step if they are unwilling and in my opinion it is wrong to assault their reality to attempt to coherce them into doing so.

The path of spiritual evolution in any form should be the choice of the individual to make without pressure from anyone. We can only be there to help them when they are ready to take that step but we cannot and should not force them to take that first step.
If you don't sin, Jesus died for nothing.

Actually, a true enlightened 'person' cannot exist, since in enlightenment, there is only love and oneness and white light and pure joy. there are no 'people' or 'enemies', only oneness. you can however, be an enlightened being (and in truth, theres only one supreme enlightened being, and a billion different ways of describing it.)

Oneness. Just think about that word for a moment. That means: There Is only one. This took me by surprise when I first had this experience that I had; because what oneness means isn't like everyone gets together and holds hands and says 'we are one.' it means that everything IS one; and guess what buster: you're part of that. that menas that you become EVERYTHING and everything is you and there's no one else to explain that to, although you totally could. you could explain everything or anything at that point.

So, the entity or consiousness which has attained nirvana, is experiencing ultimate joy, all the time, (indeed 'time' is just part of the oneness) constantly, forever, with nothing else, hard as that may be to conceptualise, until it choses to experience something else. draw a circle and colour the inside: it only has one side. Now, imagine: that is how pure love actually is: one-sided. there is only love, and theres nothing else. No, fear doesn't have to exist for love to exist, fear IS love, just different. love needs no exuses, love needs nothing to be, it just IS; and it IS spectacular, beyond words, beyond everything you can see or think or taste or smell or feel. Infact, Thats why everything is here; so you can see and taste and feel and experience it all. Everything is a supreme expression of absoloute perfection: a million different ways of saying "YES!!!", but more than that, that little word.

There just isn't anything else. everything is "YESness", if you look closely.

Let me just tell you that this is what you truely are, at your highest level. you cannot (and do not wish to) be anything else. nor would you ever, had you attained enlightenment.

However: There is a distinction between elightenment at the supreme godhead, experiencing the singularity, and enlightnment as a jivan mukta, one who has returned to the body in full retention of all ultimate knowledge. In that sense a person may be enlightened, but I don't care since they aren't one with everything, supreme oneness and only that, experiencing itself.

I know from my experience that everything is possible and that there is only love, but how or why somone would choose to come back as an enlightened person, such as jesus, to shepard the crowds of people for their benefit is beyond me. but - as I wrote that, I realised the exact reason that jesus took his form: to have the experience of sheparding the weak and healing the infirm: even though, at his highest level he also realises that there are no people, and there are no weak, and there are no infirm, only love, and love, and boundless, endless love, but still, That part of the oneness comes back to experience that and to contribute to the experience of everything.

I understand that, and I know now that such a part of the ultimate experience could also contriubute significantly to the other areas of the experience.

Anyway, getting back to enlightenment and nirvana:
can you imagine how good that feels? please, do that next time you smoke DMT. fill yourself with that blissful feeling, and fear nothing, for there is nothing to fear. You will be surprised. Very happyVery happyVery happyVery happy
