This does work with mushrooms, but has anyone heard of adding tryptamine to the feed for dmt containing plants, such as psychotria viridis and phalaris grasses significantly boosting the yield of DMT in the final product? Could be a pretty easy way to get a lot more dmt than there would be 'naturally'.

Plants do not absorb tryptamines from the roots, so this won't work. Injection into the plant would not work for the average grower either.

So, no.

I'm currently arranging to grow some of our fungal friends this summer. Additionally, I plan on performing my first DMT extraction this next week. After reading this thread, my curiosity is piqued by this "tryptamine boost", and I have a few questions if someone wouldn't mind answering them:

1. What type of tryptamine is required? Should I set aside some of my DMT for this, and, if so, how much?

2. What does the trypt. boost actually DO to the specimens, chemically or otherwise, to make such an effect possible?

3. Is this too advanced for a first-timer to attempt?

4. How would one go about successfully performing this procedure?

Sorry for the barrage of questions, this just popped up at the perfect time--huzzah for Synchronicity! Thanks in advance, everyone! Smile

1.What type of tryptamine is required? tryptamine hcl
Should I set aside some of my DMT for this, and, if so, how much? probably not. NMT is a more formidable supplement, save the spice for personal consumption.

2. What does the trypt. boost actually DO to the specimens, chemically or otherwise, to make such an effect possible?
the precursors serve as intermediate substrates for the enzymes involved in alkaloidal production. in theory, supplementing the fungal substrate with tryptamine will increase alkaloid production
enzymes tend to be picky with substrate concentration, so don't overdo it on the supplementation.

3. Is this too advanced for a first-timer to attempt? not necessarily. search the web for 'tryptamine cubensis', and experiment..

4. How would one go about successfully performing this procedure? the same way anything else is done successfully. experimentation.

ive heard things regarding certain tryps used as substrate for psilocin contianing mushrooms producing new compounds in the mushrooms that were not known in nature and am very interested in hearing more about this....can this be done?
