Browsing through these forums lately, SWIM has noticed that a great deal of members have moved on to using MAOIs with their spice, whether it be in Changa form, or just taking some before smoking their spice. SWIM has yet to try this combo, as he has always been apprehensive of using MAOIs.

So my question is......

How does the daily/regular use of MAOI effect you? Are you constantly on an MAOI diet, avoiding foods that are high in tyramine, avoiding caffeine, avoiding MDMA, etc etc.?? SWIM would love to experience a caapi/spice Mix, but simply loves his coffee and food far too much to sacrifice. Some say that caapi is a Reversible-MAOI and that these precautions do not need to be followed. SWIM gets a very very bad feeling about this statement, as SWIM has seen far too many warnings about MAOIs.

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

Caapi has reversable MAOI or RIMA, so the diet that is put out there is a safety precaution, there are very few if any cases of people reacting badly to Caapi harmalas when not following any specific diet. Only thing to remember is not to mix the two with any pharmacuticals/ medication/MDMA.

Now when it comes to daily use of changa, I follow no specific diet, I drink coffee and eat as normal, trying my best to stay healthy but I never abstain from specific foods. If you are on any medication then yes maybe its a good idea to check if there could be any negative effects, but no need to stress about diet. Carry on as you would any other daySmile

Smoke that CHANGA!!

No stats, but personal experience. A friend whom I see infrequently have taken serious amounts of plant MAOI (caapi and rue extracts) with no ill effect. She experimented with doses from 50 to 400 mg of pretty pure extracts with no special dieting. Coffee, hard cheese, etc. even beer was consumed. MDMA is another thing. I think it is a big no-no.

Of course, this is not an advice because our bodies may be very different. This is this friend's personal experience. By careful experimenting your may check it for yourself.
Do not seek the truth, just drop your opinions.
