i have been cutting back sharply on my marijuana use lately. In previous times i have smoked daily for extended perios by myself. i now limit it to only on social occasions with friends and the occasional toke if i am feeling very run down and need to relax and tune out the world.

one thing i have begun to notice is that my tolerance to the drug has dropped dramatically so much so that what would once only get my stoned literally brings me to mild visual distortions and CEVs. does anyone have thoughts on this phenomena? it isn't particularly a negative thing but it is just very intriguing and odd.

well any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I have it the exact same way. Smoked daily for two years give or take, now I only smoke maybe once a month. I often get in a psychedelic headspace and even with visuals, both mild to medium CEV and very mild OEV. To me, cannabis is an entheogen, and should be treated such.

for me i really started noticing my tolerance dropping after i began using more powerful psychedelics namely mushrooms. i sort of think that maybe i dont get "higher" i just am more aware of all the effects i used to block out....
who knows?

This could perhaps also be the case for me, as I started using visual entheogens like mushrooms at the same time I stopped the daily smoking. I have also noticed that I get more entheogenic effects from cannabis if I have eaten mushrooms or cactus a few days earlier.

For me cannabis is many things and entheogen is one of them. I have seen many CEV espesialy in the erley years. The psychedelic effekts have always ben what have drawn me to it, I do not like al the other drugs like coke, speed, and opiats, they do nothing for me, I have alvays liked the psychedelics best. I have now ben using this magical herb for over 15 years on and of, and I realy miss the good old days when I realy got high. I used to smoke and close my eyes and se films be hind the eyelids. I also used to meditate with the herb and could go quite deep, still can but seldom remember to do it. As much as I love cannabis it realy scares me some times to, it does not like to be abused, and can give you a leson close to those spice it self gives.

It can get you back to the psychedelic state of shrooms or lsd for a short reminder, It did that to me in roskilde once. I had ben chewing dry shromms all day, but had landed and desided to enjoy a pipe of realy good hash from kristiania. and it gave me something I can only liken to ego death, it draged me out and tore me apart before asembeling me back again. It semes that it voke the shrooms back to life and proseeded to slapp me about. I realy thogth I was dead. I have also had flashbacks when smoking but that is mostly velkome althoug a bit scary.

My friend doesn't weigh a whole lot, and he can get extremely noticeable psychedelic effects from doses that only make his friends stoned. Part of that is the low body weight, and part of it is that he doesn't smoke too often, whereas some of the friends smoke every day. For social smoking, he's learned to take half hits by diluting the smoke with regular air, which prevents him from getting too high to interact with people and also makes it easier on the vocal cords -- important since he's a singer.

While he doesn't tend to have particularly spiritual experiences with cannabis (except for some potentiation of a negative spiritual experience he was already having from powerful meditation), he does have pretty amazing experiences with music. When he's at a psychedelic dose of cannabis, where the visual framerate shows itself with open eyes and closed eyes present some visuals that aren't too intrusive, songs can create entire worlds that he can be immersed in. Not in the sense of hyperspace -- it's very different from that. If not always less visual, then definitely much less spatially rich. But the sound, the emotions, and the imagination all form a very immersive experience which is based on the foundation of a song's overall character. He says that every song has a somewhat synesthetic character to it even when he's sober. This character includes some mild visual elements when eyes are closed, some emotional and intellectual elements, and a mental sensation that can't really be described in terms of emotion, thought, or the five senses. When he gets high, the song's character takes over his experience completely.

To quote Morinth from Mass Effect 2, talking about a band that creates experiences like that, "They're amazing. They get totally inside my head and tear it to shreds." This is definitely said with a smile.

However, if he gets too high, around the point where CEV's become intrusive enough that they can't possibly be ignored, then it always stops being fun. Misery sets in and not even the most upbeat music can dispel it. At that point, he takes some Benadryl and melatonin to go to sleep quickly. Unfortunately, the thirty minutes that it takes for the medicine to kick in feels like so much longer, and it's always rather tormented. It's weird. Cannabis makes him feel nice at low doses, neutral at medium doses, amazing at high doses, and horrible at very high doses.

I have a high sensitivity and cannabis has always been psychedelic for me. After other entheogens I did notice that cannabis seemed much more psychedelic than before..why-i'm not really sure..higher sensitivity maybe. I only smoke it every week or two nowadays..but its a very profound experience ever time.

I wish more people realized what a powerful tool it can be for meditation,self growth, life.. instead of something like- all day err day bakin' out thur bro's car with fat bluntskis til thur wicked stoned son'

Sensetivety to cannabis seems unrelated to veigth, I have allvays been a large person and more sensetive than my friends. Buth sensetivety is good if you use it, bad if you ignore the signs. it is when we lern to moderate our self's we can acheve our potential. And it is when we lern our limits with the herb, that we can use it pruposefuly and sucksessfuly. I can now, because I know the strength of the herb I use, predikt how high I will get from the amont I ingest, either vaporised or oral. So I know if the dose is entheogenic or if I can play with the kids. I use it for boring work and to inspire me when i'm stuk in my artistik endeavours, and so on. I have had rough times with the herb, but then I stoped what I was doing and evaluated my use, usualy 2 weeks clears your head enough to se your bad habits. but I have months of some times when I feel things have gone to far. You must deside what to use it for and how it shal affekt you, if you find the herb is unkontrolable you shuld stop using it.

But some times however you try to kontroll and predikt its effekts, it will suprice you and give you a hard time.
I like to use it oraly, but that can somtimes be realy scary. I think an over dose of cannabis is one of the most scary things I have encounterd. The doses of shrooms I have done is not as scary as some of the "trips" I have had on cannabis.

seriously tho, gb's are fun, but they knock me completely on my ass/rape my respiratory system despite having leather lungs. I got a massive Gravitron glass GB (with a bubbler stem that pulls the smoke through the water) for cheap back in October and it will wreck even people with the most ridicjulous tolerances.

well I am the same eversince I've done mush and salvia. When I smoke gange now I get very strong pshycedelic feelings and can't do it everyday like I use to. But I feel the same I rather do it with a group of people. All chemicals of phycedelic properties should be used as such in my opinion. I try to stick to doing it on the weekends
