Hi Nexians... I was thinking about this today while I was cleaning my rats cage. I was cleaning the cage and suddenly I saw that my rats were playing in the grass and the idea crossed my mind.
What are the top 5 'good' things about psychedelics (in general and not necessarily in order) in my experience:
1- They allow me to enjoy simple things (the sky, the trees, the sea) in a more beautiful way than before I took them.
2- They have showed me that there is 'much more' about the mind and consciousness that what I thought before I took them.
3- They (in some strange way) resurrected my faith in dreams. Sometimes I feel (without tripping) that 'dreams' can come true (with effort, of course)
4- Can help people open up to sincere and deep relations (emotionally speaking), great empathy (even with total strangers). At least for a moment.
5- Great sex . Without a doubt.
What are the top 5 'bad' things about psychedelics in my experience:
1- Sometimes I cannot focus while I'm working or studying because I'm thinking about psychedelics.
2- In several occasions, I have had kind of delusional thoughts that made me act in strange ways... with no real benefit whatsoever.
3- They create randomness in my life. Strange things start to happen, change starts affecting my comfort zone.
4- I start getting a little more paranoid than normal (Specially when reintegrating). Cops and police cars make me little nervous at that time.
5- Sometimes they feel so 'right' that I start talking about psychedelics with people that don't even want to listen to that and then think I'm an 'addict'. (Facepalm)
Well that's all. I wanted it to share it with you guys and probably someone would like to post their own list.
Good luck to everyone.

Don't have any of my own, but you easily hit the nail on the head with that list! Nice job. Do not listen to anything, "Steely" says. He is a made up character that his owner likes to role play with. His owner is very delusional and everything he says is completely untrue and ridiculous. I've definitely opened my mouth to people about psychedelics when I shouldn't have...you feel so stupid for talking about something that you personally feel so right about. It's kind-of a shitty feeling. *We are now at a phase of human development where we have accumulated an enormous amount of knowledge through scientific research in the material world. Since I am so deep and committed to my medicine work, I DEEPLY LONG for a face-to-face community. That is the only thing that really hurts my heart... I wish it wasn't all anonymity on the computer, dusty books, and talking to my plants. I have gained so much respect for life, for my body, for the earth. I feel recycled, composted, born again, made creative, able to effectively deal with stress, helpful to others. I absolutely did not believe in spirits beforehand. I do enjoy the randomness... It is all good. And I could never truly say, "It is all good," before my experience with psychedelics. That being said, the only other sadness in my heart (which sort of ties to the first one), is that there are still parts of society that are afraid of the blessings, healing, and innovation that psychedelics bring. It hurts me that people are scared for no reason. We would grow in leaps and bounds as a species if we remembered collectively how to hear the voice of life all around us, from bacteria to trees... Some things will come easy, some will be a test

The benefits are manifold for those who know how to receive them from the use of psychedelics.
However, one irritating thing is the effect that they can have on concentration. My friend who has all of the difficulties and symptoms associated with moderate to severe ADHD says that cannabis and tryptamines both disrupt his ability to concentrate from the moment they take effect, and also the day after he uses them. Psychedelic doses of cannabis (which are large) might cause brain fog that lingers for two days.

Well the worst aspect is it makes some believe in ridiculous things. Instead of using the power to improve there lives and answer internal questions, they focus on all sorts of BS ie aliens, entities, 2012....ect this crap is fantasy and a waste of glucose by the brain. Psychedelics should be used to solve proublems and generate new ideals in real time, its about the PRESENT not the past or some BULL CRAP delusional future. Live in the moment because that all any of us really have. Peace Friends

That, my friend, is right on the head of the nail. Thank you! I took the liberty of slightly editing your quote and placing it in my signature, please let me know if that is a problem.

Top Benefits 1. It turns my house into the most exciting place in the universe, better than a trip to Hawaii or the moon. 2. Psychedelics give me a taste of what it feels like to be god during some trips. 3. Sometimes philosophical insights slam into me like tidal waves during pharmahuasca trips. 4. My heart skips a beat and I get shortness of breath thinking about upcoming trips. 5. My understanding of reality has broadened, my thoughts are more expansive, and I am able to think deeply about my life.
Drawbacks 1. I trip once a week on pharmahuasca and sometimes I fear my mind will start to come loose. 2. I enjoy my trips a little too much, I obsess about DMT, and I should have never started smoking that damn changa! It's habit forming. 3. I am Joebono, a secret drug user. 4. There is always the possiblity of slipping into psychosis for a few days or forever. 5. I have lost all sense of objectivity. I can't tell the difference between right and wrong or if good and evil exist, or if anything even really matters other than my happiness and pleasure. I guess I always leaned toward existential ideas, but psychedelics have really pushed me into that corner.
Somewhere in the Middle 1. I get deep into solipsistic fantasies during trips. 2. I literally think I am god during some trips. 3. I smoke changa during the week. 4. I want to have a DMT bitch slap so I can lay off of it for a while. 5. Why can't I ever have a decent cactus trip? It's always an underdose or a messed up extraction and I've done every single method of extracting.

Psychedelics should be used to solve proublems and generate new ideals in real time, its about the PRESENT not the past or some BULL CRAP delusional future. Believing in “ridiculous things” and improving one’s life are not mutually exclusive. Psychedelics don’t have the power to solve problems. People can gain insight and understanding through the use of psychedelics, and as a result of this insight can choose to focus on solving problems. gibran2 is a fictional character. This highlights something i feel. The cop cars and police.. why do they make us paranoid? Well duh! But what im getting at is this... Psychedelics highlight things we could normally miss. If your being made aware of the oppressive and unreasonable behavior of the law then surely it is just that. Only today i found a story of a young man being put in prison for 16 years.. for growing mushrooms. Whatever benefits psychedelics have, i think would serve society well. If only that was recognized huh. /sigh. “Right here and now, one quanta away, there is raging a universe of active intelligence that is transhuman, hyperdimensional, and extremely alien... What is driving religious feeling today is a wish for contact with this other universe.” ― Terence McKenna

Then why are so many intelligent and observant people disillusioned? I would expect "stupid" people to remain blissfully ignorant.
Not to attack your opinion, of course! I just think that disilluionment has more to do with personality factors than intelligence. I would expect people with higher amounts of neuroticism and lower amounts of agreeablness and openness to experience to be more susceptible to disillusionment than people in the opposite situation.
That said, I don't have empirical evidence to support this claim.

You know what's funny...lately people seem to be ripping my posts to shreds. Every little word needs to be perfect or else it will get ripped apart and analyzed to perfection. I'm pretty sure you knew exactly what I meant.
To me, language is art. It is always up to the interpretation of the subjective observer. I'm apparently not that good at communicating by the looks of it, lately.

If you read the previous post by MagikVenom, he used the word “delusional”. I think ۩ meant “deluded” rather than “disillusioned”. Correct? gibran2 is a fictional character.
