Just a question, more of a rhetorical question

What is it with people in the chat that they have to try get some higher position, and tell so called "noobs" in a waging of the finger like fashion, and that they are ruler of some highly controlled new found frontier?

Really? Such behavior should result in banishment from the chat, in my honest opinion. People high on their own ego is nothing we need!

No one means anything serious by the word "noob". Wanna know why? Because we are all NOOBS to DMT. No one is above that status, anyone who says otherwise is obviously kidding or has probably never partaken in the spice.

if someone is harassing you, saying something racist, or sexist, please say something about it. The chat has a sort of freedom instilled in it where-as the boards are more regulated, so the discourse is different. However with the freedom, no one should be a jerk without due cause.

So many people come in to chat asking questions that they shouldn't be asking in my opinion. All they need to do is spend some time researching and reading the forum and they will answer their own questions. When I see this happen I typically just ignore the questions and refrain from saying anything.

Im getting tird of answering some of these questions as well..especially people running to me asking about bufotenine and their iso extractions..I really dont mind, but sometimes I think half these people could just read the threads where I have posted all this info.

I dont like this "noob" lable either..

People asking questions doesnt bother me..its when they ask me thing like "what!? why didnt this work or oh this tek doesnt work bufo doesnt work bla bla bla i tried it 1 time etc etc"..all that stuff has been covered in threads I made about it specifically for those people. I just wish people would do the proper research for themselves before running to the caht every time with 10 diff questions all found in the forum..there is TONS of information on the forums, 90% of the questions in chat can be answered with a simple search.
Long live the unwoke.

its mainly the wagging of the finger and the whole idea they own thier own slice of spice or somthing. And yes the term noobs is from playing virtual games or somthing?

I'm such a noob, I can't seem to figure out chat. The place to type is sooooo far up the page from the current chat that I just read what others are saying for a bit, then leave.

Wag your finger at that!

This brings up the same debate that I have seen come up soo many times now:

Should the nexus allow nursery members into chat?

This debate goes into MANY different directions such as the one in this thread or sadly the all to famous, "Dealing, selling, and buying of DMT" talk that we've all seen far too many times.

There are solutions to this, but they all seem to lead back to whether we should keep allowing Nursery members in chat.
Do not listen to anything, "Steely" says. He is a made up character that his owner likes to role play with. His owner is very delusional and everything he says is completely untrue and ridiculous.

I think people here that call other's noobs are the kind of people that have maybe been here for a while but only broke through once and got scared shitless but now talk like they have all the answers.
But please don't take things personally. Just let people be stupid. It's their choice.

Were all noobs in this universe! I really wouldn't take it personally when someone calls another a noob in the chat unless they are being very rude and offensive for no reason. Its usually in a joking manner as far as i've seen..Sometimes i guess its just frustrating when someone asks a question 10 times when they could have found the answer to with a quick search

L_Star, if this thread was because of our encounter in the chat earlier then i apologize if i came off like i was directing all that at you. I never called you a noob, i was simply speaking my mind about the topic. I reacted as I usually do when someone suggests that i listen to or watch tv while spiced.

<Ringworm>hehehe, it's all fun and games till someone loses an "I"

U.C you did dude (nice avatar), striaght out. I will be more specific with what I type, will say to a person YOU SHOULD try this, if i am suggesting it to them, rather then, if you. The aggressivness of members that dissaprove when other members suggest things, needs to b toned down also. In all probally miss understanding on both our parts. All the best

How about a nursery chat? Best of both worlds it seems to me. But I've only been a member for 5 mins...!

I don't use the chat so I can't really comment, but to assume that you have nothing to learn from and everything to teach to someone you have never met is far beyond rediculous.

I see this superiority through ignorance on the boards also, so it's certainly not limited to the chat and another nursery for the chat would probably be counter productive. I can see why we have a nursery for the boards because these remain as a source of information and it's good to moderate who can add to this great oracle we have at our finger tips. However a chat room is just for that. Chatting. Not just for the "elite" either.

its not fair to restrict nursery people from chat imo. It could be a good idea for chat safety, but only if nursery people can be activated quicker than usual. actually on that token. i need to look around the nursery more often and help out the new people here.
Sir Terrence McKenna: "and what is real: is you, and your friends, and your associations, your highs, your orgasms your hopes your plans your fears... and were told. no. we're unimportant, we're peripherial. get a degree, get a job, get a this, get a that. and then your a player, (but) you dont even want to play that game? (well) you want to re-claim your mind and get it out of the hands of the cultural engineers: who want to turn you into a half-baked moron consuming all this trash thats being manufactured out of the bones of a dying world. ¿where is that at?"

"But now technology throws a curve. and the curve is that we live so long, that we figure out what a scam this is. we figure out that what your supposed to work for isn't worth having, we figure out that our politicians are buffoons, we figure out that professional scientists are reputation building gravitating weasels. we discover that all organizations are corrupted by ambition. we figure. it. out... and as you come to see that you are alienated you realise that culture is not your friend."

I think Nursery members should be allowed in the chat. Part of what it's there for is to help people with their questions. Someone may run into an issue mid-extraction and want feedback faster than if they post on the forum. I don't think we should deny people this resource. I think it might be a good idea if newer users got a pop-up message outlining the rules and guidelines of the chat and had to agree before entering their first dozen or so times, but nothing more intrusive than that.

And from what I've seen, the chat is pretty even-tempered. Even "noob questions" (which I would define as questions whose answers can be found with 30 seconds of searching google and the nexus wiki) are nearly always answered without criticism.

But if this "condescending attitude" and "finger wagging" was in response to talking about watching TV on DMT..... well, honestly, what would you expect? To many (most?) people here, that whole notion is fundamentally disrespectful.

Well articulated entropymancer. My days of Gilligan's island and spice are long gone. Wink
But seriously, I agree with you fully. And there's nothing like having a question ignored to make you change the subject.

Completely agree with Entropymancer. I have very little tolerance for disrespect towards these plant healers. If UC spoke a little rudely to the suggestion to watch tv on DMT, I don't condone it but I definitely understand it. From my perspective, it's better to have short-sighted and unthinking behaviors called out than letting the slide for others with less experience and maturity to pick up on.
