Hello, Swim has had trouble seperating the Yellow Oils anf fats out of Stb spice. Swim has scoured the nexus and found the basics of rextal with bestine(which is what swim has). IS it true that once the lets say 1g of jammy spice is saturated with 30 ml of hot hep, the spice is allowed to cool at room temp for several hours until the fats fall and settle, then the saturated solvent and the goo are seperated and the nps is freeze perciped? Even though the solvent is at room temp it still locks the spice right? Swim is moving to the west coast of the american gulags soon and doesent have a lot of time before getting rid of Swims cultures..

The fats should fall to the bottom if you keep it hot/warm using a hot water bath, give it a little time, then decant the top layer and freeze precip.
SWIM did not find that 30ml of hot heptane could dissolve a whole gram of spice, it was actually much smaller than this - 30ml dissolving something like 350-400mg of spice. You can reuse the heptane 3-6 times before it begins to be saturated with oils that will effect your product (depending on how pure your initial product was before the re-x).
Everything I post is made up fiction. SWIM represents a character who is not based in or on reality.

Interesting.. give it a little time swiy ways.. Perhaps a few hours...??. Also Swim will want to try to remove some of the color with activated charcoal.. SWim believes that a civilian supply of this material may be found inside a new brita water filter. SWim opened one up and the nodule is filled with a mixture of pellets black possibly activated carbon(charcoal)? and w lighter colored pellet (pumice)? Does SWIy believe this material could be added to a testtube of hot hep. to remove tannins/color? thanks again..

heys its been in the warm bath for a couple of hours now and no fats have fallen to the bottom.. the solution is still amber colored.. how long is it suppose to take?

Any luck with precipitating the fats?

SWIM did an IPA extraction that, although very fast, usually pulls a lot of fats, oils and whatnot.
SWIM's heptane was very opaque. It was left at room temp and in 12 hours lots of fluffy stuff separated and is slowly falling to the bottom. The remaining heptane is transparent but still brown tinted.

Did SWIY have something similar? How SWIY dealt with the precipitate? Decanted and discarded?

Well, of course;

what narmz said above is incorrect. Fats do not precipitate to the bottom. dmt oxide precipitates. This is what happens:

Crude yellow dmt is a mixture of white dmt, yellow oils/fats and yellowish/reddish dmt-oxide. By dissolving it in the naphtha the yellowish/reddish oxide precipitates (that is, if it is present to begin with) from the dmt. The fats dissolve in the naphtha (thus colouring it yellow) along with the dmt but do not precipitate. You put it in the freezer, flats still remain dissolved but dmt precipitates as white stuff.

Well. SWIM's heptane looks somewhat more complex. At the very bottom there is a small puddle of dark brown oily looking liquid. Halfway from the bottom to the surface heptane is full of fluffy flakes that VERY slowly sink to the bottom. The rest, about 1/2 of the volume from the top, is a layer of transparent yellow reddish heptane. What would be the best way forward? SWIM does not mind smoking some dmt-oxide, but she would prefer to discard the oils.

In a couple of recent extractions, while trying to freeze-precipitate spice from yellow heptane, SWIM has been getting clear transparent heptane and same yellow spice. Only another quick A/B could get her a reasonably white spice. But according to the re-xtallisation theory oils should remain dissolved in heptane, right?. Can you tell what is she doing wrong?

Location: the lab
sounds like some water solubles.
dry the heptane over magnesium sulfate.
