I was wondering if any could help me figure out which is better for smoking, wild dagga leaf or wild dagga flowers??

Id also love to hear anyone opinions/experiences on smoking wild dagga or drinking wild dagga tea.

Thanks.

I've tried a resin extract. The smoke was very harsh and unpleasant. I couldn't smoke enough to get an effect. Orally the resin wasn't active at 1g. I've heard, the flowers are more potent than the leaves. I'd bet the flowers taste better than the leaf.

I say I didn't get an effect, but it must be clear that I didn't get an effect that I could distinguish from a cannabis high. It didn't add anything noticeable to a cannabis high. If I wasn't high on cannabis, then maybe I could have felt the dagga.

Neither one, IMHO. Swim has tried them both. They do produce a short-lived stoning effect somewhat similar to pot, but nowhere as intense. The smoke is quite harsh on the lungs. Also, one has to smoke alot of it to get any decent effect.
I have got better highs from Yerba Mate. Save your money for better things.

Thanks for the input.

I plan on getting some dried wild dagga flowers and experimenting with a few different mixes of dagga and other herbs.

Ive also heard that the tea can have some decent mild effects. Im thinking a tea blend of wild dagga and blue lotus might be pretty nice, we shall see.

i will update the thread with my reports as soon as i aquire some.

Until then everyone please feel free to add any information or experiences concerning wild dagga.

thanks again

well im not looking for a cannabis substitute. SWIM has plenty of cannabis..

what he is looking for, are alternatives to cigarettes because he just quit recently. not only this but he also plans on trying some of them laced with JWH and some with DMT and also just likes to smoke good herbs, even if they dont get him high.

IMO wild dagga is actually one of the best herbs to use (only the orange petals) if you are looking to infuse with JWH or Spice. however by itself it is pretty lame. the smoke of the orange petals is not harsh at all only the green parts of the plant are harsh. i went to african shaman and got 50gram of wild dagga for $10 and i am very satisfied. wild dagga is one of my favorite herbs for changa also because it is SOOO absorbant. if you take the raw petals and vigorously rub them in your hand they become very soft and perfect consistency for smoking. IMO wild dagga petals is even better than Mullein leaf as a base for a blend. although im still experiementing, my current blend (by volume. not weight) is 1/4 Pau D Arco, 1/2 wild dagga, 1/4 Mullein leaf, 1/4 good cannabis. i like this smoke blend so much i often just smoke it as is without even adding the spice. wild dagga is a somewhat quick-burning herb so i balance it out with the slow burning herbs mullein and cannabis.

if i have a spice-infused blend on just wild dagga, i sometimes find thee experience overpowering because the herbs burn rather quickly so i get more concentration of spice in each hit. if my blend is just with slow-burning herbs, it just doesnt smoke quite right and can lead to an underwhelming experience.

the trick is to get to the point of equilibrium where the blend burns at the right speed so you can get the right amount of spice in each hit.

a lot of nexians dont give wild dagga much credit, but i have learned that if you use only the petals and rub them in your hands, it is a very useful herb to have at hand.

Awesome. thanks for that post.

Yea it seems like most people just compare it to cannabis and say its garbage, but my cat is not looking for a cannabis substitute and he is very aware that Wild Dagga isnt going to get him all stoned, he's just looking for something that smokes nicely to replace cigarettes for in between cannabis sessions as well as experimentation with mixing spice/JWH and other herbs combination's.

he already has a bunch of Mullein and plans on ordering a good amount of Wild Dagga flower petals, passionflower and some Pau D Arco for a nice smoke mix thats good on the lungs.

how is Pau D Arco smoke? is it harsh? how does it taste?

Strangly enough I've gotten the most out of quidding/swallowing fresh Wild Dagga leaves. It is dreamy and mildly euphoric. Much stronger of an effect than smoked leaves or flowers.

Could you also chew/quid the flowers?

or would you say leaves are better for this method?

Pau Darco is not harsh at all, and adds a "sweetness" to the flavor of the smoke. it is a fast burning herb, even more so than wild dagga petals. i think pau Daco is extemely useful in smoking blends (especially with spice infused) becuase it helps the herbs burn much more evenly. My Pau D'arco came in the form of thin, flexible strips. i usually tear the strips in 1/4 inch pieces roughly. the smoke is very smooth, not harsh at all.

also, if you smoke your herbs in a bong or pipe, i like to take a bit of hand-rubbed wild dagga and make a small ball out of it, pussing very hard with my fingers. (it doesn't usually hold shape but i do the best i can to try and make it hold) i like to put this ball/chunk in the bottom of the bowl instead of using a screen because wild daggais so absorbant, it traps and soaks up a lot of the melted spice that would otherwise drip right past the screen and down the bong stem. i have noticed a considerable difference in the strength of my trips when doing this.
