Ever since I quit smoking cannabis and tobacco sometimes I find it extremely hard to breathe. I just can not breathe fully. I then start to get dizzy and I get tingly even inside my mouth. Passing out is just right around the corner. It freaks me out. I've never had to deal with this before.

Does anyone else experience this, and if so, how do you deal with it?

I've just been chugging water and consuming lots of fruit and other foods like chocolate when this happens and it slowly subsides...

This, and rapid heart beats, are the main reason I had to quit coffee months ago.

Thank you for your time and mind.

Is this be some somatic anxiety due to smoke quitting ? As far as I could see, I would bet on this one. Quitting smoke can bring a lot of anxiety that is not easy to deal with.

Did this ever happen before you quit? If anything your lungs should feel better than before.

I have asthma that is controlled by meds. The description you give doesnt sound like an asthma attack. When Ive had them its just shortness of breath, to the point where you inhale but feel like you still not getting air, its a horrible feeling.

You might have to go to a doc and see what they say. Dont bother with otc stuff for asthma as it never worked for me.

Sorry, wish i could help more.

I quit smoking tobacco and weed (after 20 years) nearly 4 years ago.

initially I got extreme chest attacks, if I got stressed or ran or exerted myself. My chest would close up and I thought I was going to pass out. I could breath, but nothing was getting through. It's terrible.

Over the years it got much better.

You're not going to like this, but I was prescribed a product called Symbicort. It's not good for immediate attacks, Ventolin is better for that. One dose of Symbicort in the morning as a preventative measure gets me through the day.

I'm not anxious at all, it's been a while, I'm very relaxed and happy about my decision.

And no Seven, this is a recent development.

Maybe Cordyceps would help?

There are many reasons for asthma. I had it myself. I think it has something to do with your nutrition and vitamine intake.
You can also take homoepathic medicine and healing mushrooms (shiitake for example) for healing.

Pick up a cheap PVC didgeridoo on ebay and start learning.

The breathing that you do to play really builds up your lungs.

My asthma, which during winter got so bad I was going through 1 albuterol inhaler a week, is now all but gone.

I've been playing for about 1 1/2 years and it has made an amazing difference. Bounce Breathing is something that really clears out my airways and seems to reduce inflamation (guess at best but they feel less constricted).

Give it a shot...plus it's a lot of fun and AMAZING to play while psycadelized.

woah acolon what a great idea. I never thought of that. I tried to make a sound out of one once, and failed horribly lol.

^ It takes a little bit of practice and a decent mouthpiece. There are a lot of good guides for beginners all over the web. Just look for Didgeridoo Lessons. Youtube has a ton of them as well.

It's fun, and if you can raspberry you can play the didg. It took me about an hour before I could make a solid drone, and months before I could circular breathe. now I can play for 30 minutes without any interuption in playing...circular breathing is pretty neat.

My friend and I just started playing together. He makes split wood didges from local hardwood and pine....so we have a ton of them and almost a full octive of keys. When you get the right two didges together, WOW.

But yes, seriously, I thought my asthma was going to be a life long pain in my ass....but didging did it for me. I still smoke, and occasionally some MJ as well, they no longer leave me wheezing and breathless.

Try it again my friend. It's a $20 investment. LA Outback also has some good beginner didges for a reasonable price. You don't need anything fancy, in fact, you can go to the hardware store and buy a 1 1/2" pvc pipe, ask them to cut it down to about 3' and make a beeswax mouthpiece (craft store for beeswax) The entire project should cost around $10-15. You can take a hot air gun and soften the pvc and make bends, dimples, whatever you want...then you can prime and paint it. Very simple very quick, and a lot of fun.

PM me if you're really interested in didging or making a didge, I can provide a ton of links and help you on your way if you need it. Didging is one of my favorite hobbies.

I have asthma, which this sounds a bit like? but it is under control these days. I found several things that help, basics really:
I stay very fit and run pretty much every day
Avoid damp conditions - I lived somewhere that was damp for a few months and it got much worse
Diet - I stopped eating so much chocolate etc & lots of fruit which seemed to help
When it was bad when I was a kid I used to get a bowl of boiling water, and add eucalyptus oil. I would put a towel over my head and breath the vapour which really helped. Not sure why, but there you go.
Oh great - the world has just been replaced by elf machinery.

I just ordered a teak one off ebay for $40 including shipping. The one in that ebay ad is bamboo, I was looking through those earlier today. I'd stay away from bamboo personally, and actually, acolon confirmed that in the pm he sent me about didges.

EDIT: oops, didnt read down far enough Rolling eyes , this is one of those molded plastic ones, my bamboo comments are irrelevant Embarrased .
