I mean the movie is basically asking us to eat some amanita muscaria before seeing it.

The next 3D experience after this awesome avatar.
The original story has been influenced by muscimol, so that could be the right plug-in !

What an incredible disappointment.... The 3d and effects were decent, even the aesthetic and characters were fairly well done, but the plot was horrible! "The Chronicles of Narnia" and "Alice in Wonderland" do have their similarities, but that doesn't mean it's ok to combine the two. The story doesn't have to be turned into an epic adventure in the vein of "Lord of the Rings" or the aforementioned "Chronicles" to be intriguing and stunning. In showing scenes portraying portions of the book's plot, I found myself thinking, "oh, that looks like a good movie, can we watch that instead?" In short, the only way to rectify the situation in my eyes is produce prequels in the forms of the original "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" as well as "Through the Looking Glass." I've always enjoyed Tim Burton and his typical cast of actors, but this was a huge disappointment for me.

Anyway, I'm rapidly losing hope in big-budget mainstream Hollywood and am dismayed that they're the only ones capable of taking advantage of current stereoscopic technology in film-making. "Tron" looks pretty decent, though.

I was okay with it. would have been better with the sound off. The plot and dialogue were predictable. Visually it was incredible. and for those who saw it.. Trade with China? Where the hell did that come from?

Trying to decide if I should put my money towards this or Shutter Island.
Everything I post is made up fiction. SWIM represents a character who is not based in or on reality.

I was pretty disappointed to be honest, if not for the mere fact that it shouldn't have been called "Alice in Wonderland", because it wasn't that story at all. The only redeeming factor for me was the Chesire Cat, which I thought looked fabulous.

Everytime I see Johnny Depp in any movie now all I see or hear is Captain Jack Sparrow, I noticed this in this film, as well as Sweeney Todd. In AIW it seemed like the Mad Hatter was just an amalgamation of his Willy Wonka character and Jack Sparrow.

The 3D was good mind, but special effects alone don't make a movie, the thing with Avatar was that it had stunning visuals as well as a gripping and moving story.

It was crap.

Tim Burton and Disney... what a fucked up combination. The imagery was good, but what the fuck was whole the Lord of the Rings - Joan of Arc battle thing about? It was like a fashion show, in every scene Alice had on a new dress. I think we'll be seeing a lot of pastel blue in the forthcoming spring collections.

Way not to go, Burton.

Left the theater after one hour. Shallow characters (with the exception of Chesire the Cat).

If you want a well-done interpretation of the original story, play the computer game "American McGee's Alice".

It's nice to see the characters, the catepillar, cheshire cat, the white rabbit, the march hare etc. It's just a shame that DisneyBurton inc. decided it was cool to rape and molest the story.

I'll watch it with a decent amount of psilocin in my bloodstream.

For those who appreciate good visuals and a decent story: watch Coraline!
