Gammagore has you covered for good advice! I was just noticing that your avatar is the same (not exactly, but almost) as 69ron's. Just thought you might want to know.

Check out sodium carbonate aka washing soda, or sodium bicarbonate aka baking soda washes.

Then check out recrystalization teks. They are all quite simple, but if I may suggest attempting to grow some nice large xtals by:

Heating up some bestine (heptane) or naphtha if that's all you have. Xylene, DCM, Toluene, Chloroform, etc won't work.

Once you have a mildly hot (not boiling) solvent, pour a small amount (20-50mL/gram of DMT) of it over your spice.

Swirll until it appears all the DMT that can be dissolved has been. They SHOULD BE LEFT OVER CRUD AT THE BOTTOM

SLOWLY decant the solvent off, not letting ANY of the goop at the bottom pour out. Keep this container (let's call it Jar B) of (hopefully) clear naphtha seperate.

Add a bit more hot solvent (50mL per g) to your remaining spice and again gently agitate for 20-30 seconds. A brown/yellow puddle will be at the bottom. You don't want your naphtha turning yellow or brown, so I highly suggest not keeping the solvent in the spice jar too long. Less heat = less DMT dissolved BUT also = let fats, oils, and other unwantables being dissolved. There is a balance of heat and time spent in the spice jar, you'll need to find that balance to get the biggest, largest, purest xtals.

Again decant into your saved jar (JAR B). Depending on how much spice goop is left at the bottom of your spice jar you can do 1 more hot/warm solvent wash of the goop, but keep this last one as short as possilbe.

Once you have collected the three naphtha pulls set the jar in a dark, cool, vibration free place. A cabinet is what I use. I don't cover, but if you must cover with a highly pourous paper towel and secure with a rubber band. This will greatly increase the time before you have xtals but it keeps out dust contamination.

Because the evaps slowly, you can grow 1" xtals with ease. I usually use a shot glass for xtal formation, less space at the bottom means less xtal clusters.

Also, last note: You may notice that the naphtha becomes cloudy when you pour it into Jar B. This is normal. You have a supersaturated solution of DMT and it cools down quickly, dropping out some spice with it. You can fix this for larger xtals by GENTLY putting your xtal formation jar in a pot of warm water and slowly increasing the temp until the solution becomes clear again. The actual jar goes in the pot, not the contents. Then take the jar and set it somewhere for 2-3 days, depending on how much solvent you used, less is more. When you look at it after 3 day there should be large xtal clusters everywhere. I let the solvent almost completely evap, this does not affect purity in any way.

They are both solvents, you should be able to find them at most hardware stores.
