I won't be making this one, but some of you may be interested:

Seems like a very unusual culture combo.

Apparently they'll be selling ayahuasca by the litre... not sure what to think about that.

Actually it looks very interesting..as a person who has fallen in love with both rave/psy trance culture and ayahuasca I find the idea of guided ayahuasca ceremonies with shipibo curranderos combined with psy trance facinating.

Ayahuasca is legal in peru and the people that spend time cultivating and harvesting vine shoud be compensated..I dont really see much of a problem with asking for money for the brew in this context since it is legal and not supporting any sort of underground market, as long as the price is reasonable..for all we know that money might just be going back to the shipibo villages. I dont think they should just give away all their ayahuasca at an event like this without being compensated something..this seems diff from just a normal ceremony since the groups i would suspect would be quite large..you pay for ceremonies either way..you go ti iquitos, you pay, you go to huatla for mushrooms..you pay.

They are having group ceremonies with curranderos there it seems..so I wonder if they are only selling the brew durring the time of those ceremonies? seems like they would be rather large group ceremonies so again it makes sense that these people cant afford to just freely give out all that ayahuasca.

I wish I was in peru so I could go and see how something like this would play out..could go either way I guess..

The problem is, although on the whole in terms of folk who participate outdoor music parties the psy trance crowd seem fairly well educated, something like this is always going to attract people who just want to get messed up and I'm not sure I'd feel good about using the sacrement in that environment.

^thats true..but thats also how i am beginning to feel about ayahuasca tourism in general..just like all the flocks of "hippies" that fled to huatla in seach of mushrooms..

I dont see ayahuasca as any more sacred than mushrooms and cacti..I hear stories on here all the time about people taking cacti and going to the bar and going to movies and mushrooms at raves etc..I am not saying I personally think this is a bad thing or cant still be spiritual..but I do see an overemphasis sometimes places on ayahuasca over other medicines..

I have tons of respect for ayahuasca..Its changed me and I drink weekly now..but I hold the same ammount of respect for cacti and mushrooms and I woulding personally use mushrooms in any context that I wouldnt use ayahuasca in.

This isn't a matter of respect of different plants for myself. I'm quite happy to dance among some of the craziest folk on moderate doses of LSD or Mushrooms because to me that's a bit like our modern ritual. The consumption of enlightening substances and the dance experience, is physical and mental expression at it's most profound. I actually had one of the greatest experiences of my life thrashing it out to some mad 160+bpm psy with 20.000 others on a head full of acid.

So I'm not here pointing the finger because people are "exploiting" a sacred plant, it's just that I don't think I would enjoy an ayahuasca experience on such a large and potentially chaotic scale. It's very much an on my back thing. I find it quite challenging if I'm using prepared pharmahuasca and someone next to me coughs or sneezes, so I couldn't imagine using ayahusca with potentially thousands of unpredictable folk.
