Yeah me too. Yerba mate is quite something. The more I drink it the more I notice its more than just a stimulant. It’s unique and I would say it is mildly psychedelic.
The auditory effects of Yerba mate at a dose of 10 grams or more, for me are very obvious. Things sound different, more crisp, more well defined. The “sound of silence” is incredible on mate. I have not noticed that with kola nut or coffee or any other similar caffeine based stimulant herbs.
I think the main effects I feel from Yerba mate are not from caffeine, but one of the other compounds present. The stimulant effects come on more slowly, are more euphoric, and last longer than those of caffeine. It also doesn’t cause that typical caffeine burnout if you drink too many cups of it. It’s very nice.
Just keep in mind that if you are a regular coffee drinker like I am, Yerba mate is not a coffee substitute. You will get mild caffeine withdrawals if you skip a day of coffee use and use Yerb mate instead. At least that’s how it is for me. Even though Yerba mate gives me just as much mental clarity and energy, it doesn’t seem to be caused by caffeine much.
You may remember me as 69Ron. I was suspended years ago for selling bunk products under false pretenses. I try to sneak back from time to time under different names, but unfortunately, the moderators of the DMT-Nexus are infinitely smarter than I am.
If you see me at the waterpark, please say hello. I'll be the delusional 50 something in the American flag Speedo, oiling up his monster guns while responding to imaginary requests for selfies from invisible teenage girls.
