This thread on parasites got me thinking. Or more so, infected me.

I've met these creatures; even had a situation where my thoughts where having thoughts of their own. Obviously, ideas exist in the mind. But are they actual creatures of hyperspace, "just memes," or both?!? Virus must exist in a physical medium, like the gut or the blood stream. Why not ideas in an "idea medium": hyperspace.

i'm sure this has been talked about before. perhaps even meme for meme.
Theory of Memetics

Here's an EXCELLENT VIDEO on memes from TED.com

(it's from 2002, so a bit dated)

I have wondered this as well. Particularly having read about octopoid before beginning to participate in the Nexus.

Sorry for being so vague, I had just woken up and was in a dreamy haze.
Some memes seem to be destroyed by hyperspace,
while other times hyperspace itself has been inflicting extremely bizarre memes upon our consciousness.

I just don't think you can explain hyperspace [copletely] with memetics...
Memes are a part of consciousness and consciousness is a part of the hyperspatial scaffolding which is ALIVE, and AWARE.

This is probably redundant...I am sitting here baffled as hell Shocked

Agreed 1000%

The very nature of an "idea" and how they work within the mind is still an utter and complete mystery to science and philosophy. pathetic eh?Very happy just like we don't even really have a clue why we sleep!
so so so much to learn....

@ ragabr, here is my report meeting these creatures. Very happy The key is to enforce your will over the "hyper-ecology" of your mind; demand all the unhelpful critters to go away. And they will (i think). It's your mind, your rules; i think it's libertarian like that, at least concerning us monkeys. Very happy
