MercedesMan,

Welcome to the Nexus.

Can you tell us a little more about yourself?

Your implication is that you got the message that it is a cosmic joke and you are now wondering what the next step is. I suppose the answer is dance. Love

Big day yesterday. Big, big day. My reality has been turned upside down.

I feel like all my psychedelic adventures led me to what I experienced yesterday. I've been doing shrooms and LSD over the years - now and again. Always with a big fat "why" in my head. Or "what". Anyway, I've been working on my DMT extractions for around six months. I've had a little Banisteriopsis caapi choofing away in the garden. It hasn't flourished, but offered me some leaves. I added some passionfruit flower into the mix and had a bit of a go with it last month, before going to PS2023. I was so wrapped up with getting to that event, I knew I wasn't quite ready to "go the ton". So yesterday was the day.

I took some chocolate (around 3.5g) and had a lovely day looking at the trees. On the comedown I thought, this is the time to bring out the changa. Puffed away. A voice inside my head was saying "do you really want to know?". And I replied, "Now is as good a time as any".

I was in a universe unrecognisable. It felt super futuristic. It was like I was seeing all these crazy images to prove that it was not something my rational mind could come up with alone. Far beyond anything I can describe and such sophisticated detail. I actually screamed in terror at one point as I realised I was getting the big reveal.

I then decided I was going to just confirm that "there is something else going on". So I went in again and pretty much hit the jackpot. Of course, sadly my words can't do it justice, but I knew I was seeing the cosmic joke. I felt like I was being told "all your psychedelic travels have led you to this point - you've earned your stripes and here it is".

The message was "find the tribe and we'll talk more". I can't be the only person this has happened to. I'm otherwise a rational, fair, considered person.

I'm trying to stay calm. Please reach out if you have any insights.

MercedesMan,

Thank you. That was a great account of your experience.

I have no deep answers. Perhaps someone else will.

But, I want to reassure you that you are in good company. I was a 41 year old, card carrying, meeting attending atheist before DMT. The card is gone, the contacts have languished.

DMT is a real eye opener and powerful catalyst, regardless of how it chooses to present to us after we vape it. I think the only guarantee is surprise.

Regardless of the deeper answers, DMT was the ticket and you took the ride.

Now comes integration. What If anything has been learned? What has been brought back?

I would encourage you to take time to journal these next few days at a minimum.

Remember, nothing has changed except your perspective.

A very warm welcome to you.

None of us can answer that for you Love

However, now that you got the message, go get another Laughing

I'm just curious what the punchline was? Like, really. And welcome.

Firstly, thank you everyone for being so kind.

This is how it rolled (and like everyone else, it doesn't feel super clear in retrospect) but I'll do my best:

What I felt / believed I saw, firstly, was that there is something going on that is a gazillion light years advanced from where we are at here on earth. I know that sounds ridiculous, but that is truly what I was seeing. I went back in (I'd been on the peace pipe for a bit by this point, taking little breathers and building up to "going the ton", as I mentioned before). When I went the ton, it was seriously like the jackpot going off, times a(nother) gazillion. I cannot explain it in my human words but what I felt was being presented to me was "you're journey has brought you to this jackpot moment, and here's the prize, CONGRATS on getting here!" which was this crazy, cartoony, mega mind blowing explosion of jackpotting jackpotness. It was like yay! you got here! You cracked the code!

That's my best efforts with the words.

What freaked me out, and in fact had been of note when previously I had puffed on my changa (but without the intention of going the whole hog) was how it all seemed so artificial. Cartoony. Computerised, if you will (but nothing, nothing like anything I've ever seen or experienced). Shrooms, even LSD have always felt intertwined with nature. With this, I felt I was in the very bowels of the computer.

It's so frustrating not being able to describe it well. But the unsettling feeling I have, post-it all, is that it's not all spiritual and love, but an orchestration of an advanced somethingorother.

I too have always been atheist (or agnostic, with the view of" who am I to say"Pleased. I am no spring chicken and if you knew my real age / identity I'm sure you'd be surprised. Since getting into the shrooms I've felt much more spiritual, that there is something "else" - rather than this being a "you're born, you live, you die" continuum. But after the changa experience, I'm leaning more to this being a game, and humans are a pawn in it. Like, throw it out there and watch them eat themselves.

I want and need people to talk with on this matter. I am a Reddit user but wanted to come to the nexus because I felt I'd get perhaps more serious students of the matters at hand. Should I target a specific forum here? Do we automatically accept it's not something we can answer?

I packed away my changa bong with the thought I never want to go there again. I guess will probably resume exploration again, but I am in nooooo hurry to do so. I understand the importance of integration.

Anyone who's bothered reading, thank you.

I found the cosmic joke to be one of absurdity. Climb a ladder and get to the top and it's on the wrong wall. Singing the wrong lyrics to a song for years. Slapping your own face to swat a mosquito. Dancing like Elaine from Seinfeld. Separation. Division. War. Cutting off your nose in spite of your face. A bad joke that makes you laugh anyway for some reason.

I hope that on my death bed I can laugh at the absurdity of my life. Those powerful cosmic joke experiences reset me. It's very important to laugh. I think what I get out of it is to remain light and buoyant. Throw a pie into your own face and laugh and laugh and laugh.

Perhaps that is the punchline?
'There is an area of the mind that could be called unsane, beyond sanity, and yet not insane. Think of a circle with a fine split in it. At one end there's insanity. You go around the circle to sanity, and on the other end of the circle, close to insanity, but not insanity, is unsanity.' -Sidney Cohen

'Singing the wrong lyric to a song for years', such a way to put in words!

I like this vinculation of you with the concept of absurdity, in existential terms.
