Will freebase dmt precipitate if a potassium hydroxide solution is added to dmt fumarate using the FASW tek, or to dmt acetate that's salted with vinegar?

I've read that lye works to precipitate dmt freebase if added to dmt acetate that was salted with vinegar, i assume potassium hydroxide would yield the same result, whether salting with FASW or vinegar. Anyone know or have experience trying this or something similar? I don't like solvents, other than water.

Yes, ime dmt freebase will precipitate from vinegar pull after addition of KOH.

Any tips for recovery of the freebase and cleanup from KOAc/KOH residue, for the solvent-phobic? Vacuum sublimation, maybe?🤡

Filter it out from basic water, wash your product still in the filter with neutral water, dissolve it in ethanol (not really sure about severity of solvent-phobia Big grin ) and dry on a flat surface. Wash it again with water.

Sounds messy. Definitely will result in yield loss.

I did something similar with tryptamine; after basification, put it in the fridge overnight. Vac filter, and rinse with ice-cold dilute ammonia.
