I'm currently doing a 10 gram boil with no acid. Hour long boils x 3.

I've never worked with this stuff before, but right now I can tell you I LOVE the smell Smile

Well I just had my first mini caapi tea. As I said above it was 10 grams 3x boiled and reduced until it was a very dark red liquid, then I left it to decant in the fridge for a few hours and it became clear like a mimosa brew, then I reduced it down until it was a dark red verging on black. I wasn't expecting to say this but... that was delicous Smile If that just didn't take so long to prepare I'd have another cup right now!

There's a very farmiliar smokey like creamyness to it that I can't quite put my finger on. I was just expecting something mildly bitter but that's got some very original flavour. I'm very curious to see how this flavour intensifies as the potency gets higher and from that mystical smell and taste my enthusiasm for this holy vine has now peaked to another level.

Hooray for caapi!

Is a caapi brew always this distasteful

Crying or very sad BLAGH! I LOVE caapi, but hate the taste too (not even close to chi)! Caapi is beautiful, keep working with her! She pissed the hell off me the first time, but that's a long story.

I'm not much of a purist, so i add a tablespoon of honey and 3g of cacao butter (raw)!!!

Very happy Very happy Very happy
wonderful
Very happy Very happy Very happy

the honey keeps it sweet and the fat settles your body (and soul) and makes you feel silky smooth. WELL WORTH IT

Could someone suggest a dosage for tea for a first time user. I've read through this thread and others on caapi only dosing, but can't find any suggestions for first time tea dosages.

I'm looking to dose on caapi only first time, either tea or extract with the intention of intoducing DMT at a later date once I've become famiiliar with the caapi only experience. However, I don't really know what my dosage should be. I don't just want MAO inhibition, but a fully psychoactive experience as well.

Go with 50gr vine brew. See how that goes, but I must just mention, it might take a few brews to get aquainted with the spirit of caapi. Regardless, 50gr brew will give you much healing and you will feel the effects for days to follow.

50 grams white caapi brewed for 8-10 hours is my favourite thing in the world at the moment. It's not in your face at all and I get zero nausea, which is weird because I get nausea from 100mg pure THH.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I've bought white caapi from Maya. I will be dosing alone which I'e never done before although I do have a fair amount of experience with other sychedelics in a group (2/3 people) setting. I'm hoping that the respect I have for the plant will ensure the experience will be both tolerable and beneficial to me.

You people that think caapi brew tastes good! For how long do you boil it?

I've only once brewed caapi and I boiled it for probably 7-8 hours and it tasted worse than anything I've ever tasted Sad

I brew it so the surface of the water is barely moving for as long as possible a minumum of 3 times then filter and reduce.

i love it. dont know why, maybe its the quality of the ingredients i use.

use a mix of herbal percolator and normal boils, depending on how fine ive powdered the shredded. vigerous boiling hasnt hurt my vine to my knowledge. usually one column pull and then 3 boils for 45 min. then reduce. longer cooks may help, id go over to the forums.ayahuasca.com and ask.

i odnt use an acid till the last pull and throw alittle coca-cola in to help that last bit move out. it does pulp the vine abit so im assuming it helps. also ginger will make the taste better and allow to hold a larger amount for longer. if sugar is available, adding it generously will make the taste better but the raw taste of cappi just makes my teeth feel so super slick and loved.

off topic: dont know but ive heard light bearing plants only require a shorter 15-20 min boil to work and reduce nausia as well.

unreduced brews taste the best btw. just requires alittle more volume so usually for a lower dose suplement.
all of my posts are fictional. please interpret them as such.

REMEMBER: everyone is different!

a 40g caapi only brew (2 x 2hr boils) knocked my teeth out!
For 4 hours I could move without dry heaving my guts out!

I'm either very sensitive or had some AWESOME vine. (these guys are indeed perishable!)

Sorry yes please note the above post.

Also note that when I'm using the vine I'll have at least a 48 hour controlled diet. Also note that some traditional brews have up to 500g's vine per person. There's a very large dosage margin with this one.

i cant imagine 500 grams per person..thats rediculous..though I am sure they probabily do do that..

Id never drink that much..especially not with admixture..

I guess thats the thing with caapi..its not toxic so you can do that..rue you can't..even with rue extractions I have heard that harmaline is toxic..with caapi though you can go higher and higher without worrying.

I cant believe people put coke a cola in brews eitherConfused ..to each their own..wouldnt find me drinking that though..

soulfood how how does the white caapi compare to the ceilo vine? I have only worked with ceilo but want to try white one day, I always was told it was weaker though..

Caapi does not taste that bad..i dont understand that really..sure its bitter but thats it..its NOTHING like cacti, calea, salvia quids..how much are you guys reducing it?..mine is like 1 shot..soooo easy to get down..even with the mimosa in the brew its not horrible or anything to drink..and i do 3 boils for 3 hours each..and i have some VERY strong ceilo..

I've only had white. 2 weeks ago I'd never even used caapi before so it's not right for me to comment really. My understanding is Ecuador black caapi is the strongest and gives more bodily sensations, then cielo, then white, then peruvian black, then yellow is the weakest. I've never found strong references for this though.

I find the bitterness of caapi to be well balanced with the warmth of the rest of the flavour, especially compared to pure alks which are nasty.

smells good while brewing

you need to use a stainless steel pot or your brew may taste like metal if you use acid

I'm just brewing now and used only 25gr. of white caapi from maya-ethnobotanicals.com. I'm boiling it down now and it's about 250ml now. I just tasted it a little and I almost threw up Sad I think there's no way I can get this down Sad This is far the most disgusting and horrid taste I've ever encountered in my whole life Sad This sucks 'cause I feel I need the healing of caapi now Sad
If I by any chance can get this down my throat I will probably throw up a minute later Sad DAMN!!!

really?

I dont find caapi hard to drink at all..I dunno why i just dont find it unpleasant..reduce it downto one shot and just suck it up for the 5 seconds it takes to swallow it I guess, dunno what else you can do..maybe your body just has a natural aversion to concentrated alkaloids, I could see that being an evolutionary advantage living in the wild.
