I opened my eyes and looked at the ceiling. The clock was showing 7:45...I looked outside the window and the sun was just above the hills and the sky was crystal clear,it gave me the impression as if I were under water...I got out of the bed and went for a shower(and all the stuff that goes along with the morning ritualLaughing ).After the shower I decided to go out for a walk...as I was walking and window shopping down town I suddenly stopped in front of an antique store, something told me to go inside and look around-and so I did...the old man who was the owner of the store asked me if I was looking for something in particular and I said no,he started to laugh after which he said that there is no coincidence and that something pushed me to come to his store and I started to laugh thinking that the old man was trying to make a few bucks with his sense of humorRolling eyes (old peopleLaughing )...I really asked myself why I even entered the store,as I was walking towards the door the old man told me he received an old book and if I was interested in buying it for 5€...why not?5€? sure I'll give it a try...the book had no cover, it had a washed look and old yellowish pages,I asked the old man about the title and he had no idea he told me some guy brought it this morning and gave it to him for free...I went outside after buying the book I opened it at a random page, and read this:“The mind acts like an enemy for those who do not control it.” and I started to laugh because the old man was right I did go in for a reason.I quickly went home to check on the internet if I could find out what the book's title was...Bhagavad Gita Laughing and the book that I bought was a translation from Sanskrit into English...This book is phenomenal I can't put it down...I'm addicted to it like I'm addicted to airLaughing you must try it...you can open it randomly or start reading it from the beginning it is simply a master piece...

Prison (by maymay)

The eyes are closed,
Darkness unfolds,
The heart is slow,
within something grows
Between the beats
Reality slips...

‘’-It’s only a dream,it’s only a dream!’’,
You wake up and scream.
You go back to sleep...
Everything’s still.

As the night dies with the break of the light
Your spirit comes back to the kingdom of time.

I was reading the Gita last week. It's a gold mine for tasty treats of wisdom. I recommend buying one, you can usually pick them up in exchange for a donation from your local Hare Krishna. :-)

The BG is probably the most amazing text I've ever read. Hinduism is the closest belief system to my own.

Haha! you clearly don't live in the South.
He led a double life. Did that make him a liar? He did not feel a liar. He was a man of two truths. - Murdoch, Dame [Jean] Iris

Kartikay is a character role that I play when I feel like escaping reality. Nothing I say under the pseudonym "Kartikay" reflects any of my actual life or personal history.

Yeha and for those not familiar withthe book, its almost like the bible of Hinduism.
And yep, I got mine from a hare krishna in my impresionable youth days.

Just as a window into how other people perceive their world.

in my opinion the words are above any barriers set by philosophy and religion it's beyond beautiful,it's divine in its purest form...but what made me more than happy is the way I found it and the form in which it was...it's not a published book,it's simply translated by somebody,I wish I knew the person because he/she wrote the verses by hand in Sanskrit and by typing machine in English...moreover there is an intro at the beginning of the book with the statement that the ''author'' prefers to remain anonymous and that the text was translated in the year 1921 and that this is his only copy...the book cover is made out of leather but it's pretty washed up and the pages are yellowish in color...I cannot believe that I gave 5€ for something as unique as this

I just finished searching the internet for some translations and I found the Bhagavad-Gita As It Is and there are some slight differences in translation into English,a few words here and there but the meaning is the same but my book is without the Purport beneath the translation it's just simply translated...I wish I knew the guy who gave it to the old man he might be a relative or something taking into consideration the year in which it was translated that the person who wrote it is dead by now
