Is my bark exhausted, or can I optimize my extractions further? Options

Hello!

This is my first post, so I'll take this opportunity to officially say greetings to you all. But don't get it twisted, I've been lurking here in the shadows for a looong time Very happy

I've really fallen in love with the extraction of DMT, there is something so satisfactory about making your own spice! But seems I have somewhat halted in my improvements recently. Out of 100g I seem to not be able to get more than around 1.3g. I do realize that this is quite a normal ratio of DMT so I am not sad about it, quite the contrary! I reliably get at least 1.1g Thumbs up

I follow Cybs Max Ion but have changed some things (like not heating and using less solvent). In the end I have these ratios:

-100g MHRB (powdered)
-700ml distilled water
-25ml vinegar (12%)
-80g salt
-40g lye
-160ml naphtha (4 pulls, 40ml each)

When I do more pulls I don't seem to get very much, however much it is it's not enough to form crystals in the freezer (although the naphtha gets cloudy). When I reuse the same cloudy naphtha in the next batch I don't seem to get too much extra either.

So all things considered, the bark is probably exhausted, right? BUT, if there are any changes you recommend that might squeeze out some more, then what would they be?

Thank you for your time!

I also never seem to get it all with the 'naphtha' method (I suspect its because solvent mixes are different in different countries and 'vm&p naphtha' is a US thang).

I always finish with at least two xylene or toluene pulls and process via the FASA method. That almost doubles the yield (accounting for the fumarate weight difference) and I am pretty sure I got most of what's in the bark. The only drawback is that you can't vape the fumarate. However I am playing a lot with pharamahuasca mixes so I don't have a problem with that. It can be converted to freebase if you wish as well.

Lately though @Loveall's direct salting method from Toluene (aka CITLO I think) is proving a far simpler and more pleasant process for me. It gives you a salt as well that could be directly vape-able and it better long term storage than freebase (as is the fumarate). Again, you can convert to freebase if you wish. Cleaning the dmt-benzoate with amyl acetate is an aromatic pleasure! Wish all solvents smelled like that Smile

Interesting!

Yea I am not situated in the U.S. so no VM&P naphtha here either...

This is all very new stuff for me. Would you say the process is difficult, and more importantly, worth the effort? I will have a look!
