OK everyone - hello.
I'm new to DMT but a reasonably seasoned psychonaut with psilocybin, LSD, and MDMA (as well as stimulants such as amphetamine in my younger days)
I'm 55 and I think I made the mistake (about 30 years ago)that psychoactive chemicals and stimulants enabled me to write good prose and poetry which, although there is a grain of truth in that view, I realise the hardships which drugs can bring if not kept in check.
I became interested in DMT through Andrew Gallimore (Reality Switch and Alien Information Theory) and research on this topic. I am currently writing a creative piece for my dissertation which tells the story of a professor of literature who wants to explore other dimensions of space with the use of psychoactive compounds like dmt, however, I am writing the story keeping in mind my lack of experience in this field, humbled by recent experiences (not all good and certainly not an experience of elves and such like)
I have very little technical knowledge about growing, extracting and this is not my interest - I am fascinated by the possibility of DMT and other compounds for the future course of human discovery, what information may be imparted from these dimensions which I have always suspected exist but never fully realised them.

Welcome. The Nexus has a plethora of information that you can find by navigating through the links on the main page. I'll add the Wiki here. You can find plenty of information on extraction there. Also, below, in my signature, I created a pictorial step by step process for DMT extraction if you'd like to get an idea of what a typical Acid to Base (A/B) extraction entails. I have a similar background in drug use, and they were mostly in my early days as well. The first thing that got me interested in DMT was about 15 years ago when I read Dr. Rick Strassman's DMT: The Spirit Molecule. You can find some useful information there, as the man spent an entire decade researching it's effects on human consciousness, near death experiences, alien abductee stories, and how all of that relates to DMT as it is endogenously created in our bodies. At the time, it was understood that the Pineal Gland produced DMT, and although some results proved to be inconclusive, later discoveries would map DMT as being in our lungs, livers, and pancreas as well. Though, it is still heavily debated in some groups. You can also search the experience reports on Erowid here. A lot of people here have a lot to share as well. If you're planning on writing something, maybe come up with some questions and ask if anyone wants to be interviewed? I'm sure they would love to contribute, most of the people here are friendly. Welcome and good luck. 🌳👨โ🔬🌳 - My A/B Hot Plate TEK - 🌳👨โ🔬🌳 🍜🍜🍜 - Don't Heat Your Naphtha, Heat Your Soup! - 🍜🍜🍜 โดโดโด - White Spice vs Yellow Spice - 🌟🌟🌟 "You are an explorer, and you represent our species, and the greatest good you can do is to bring back a new idea, because our world is endangered by the absence of good ideas. Our world is in crisis because of the absence of consciousness." - Terence McKenna 🙌 "Dang, that's really impressive for a first extraction. Those xtals are nicely resolved." - Benzyme 🙌

Viktor_1977, Welcome to the Nexus. Widderic pretty much said it all. This place is a rabbit hole of resources. I know you stated no direct interest but I find myself thinking there is nothing like lived experience. I believe Terence McKenna said DMT breakthrough is a true secret. He was right. And so much more than say sex or the LSD experience. You can tell someone all about it and they will never understand. -Pandora "But even if nothing lasts and everything is lost, there is still the intrinsic value of the moment. The present moment, ultimately, is more than enough, a gift of grace and unfathomable value, which our friend and lover death paints in stark relief."-Rick Doblin, Ph.D. MAPS President, MAPS Bulletin Vol. XX, No. 1, pg. 2Hyperspace LOVES YOU

thank you both for your kind welcome, much appreciated.
To be honest I have had 5 dmt experiences and found them overwhelming, I have promised myself to return to this realm when better prepared mentally - something quite dark and sinister keeps shoving me away, it's the most bizarre experience. I'm reading on this forum about integration and people who have had similar experiences but, if I'm being honest DMT has scared me a little.

I'm reading on this forum about integration and people who have had similar experiences but, if I'm being honest DMT has scared me a little. Thank you so much for sharing this. By the way, we are of similar age you and I I do want to let you know you are not alone and other people have had similar experiences although in general my sense is they tend to be relatively less common than the positive ones. Integration is of paramount importance. How does one figure out how the numinous, the unknowable and the ineffable factor in with the realities, sometimes rather dark, of everyday life? How can I take this learning that has been catalyzed by this most amazing of compounds and use it to make myself a better person, use it to ensure that I cause no harm and I'm willing to sacrifice for and help others. Personally, my most recent integration is coming to an end after 7 years. I feel your post is full of wise words. Please be kind with yourself and understand that outside factors can be big determinants on the unconscious, the subconscious as well as the conscious set. Personally before I even begin to think about working with the spice I really limit my exposure to said outside factors as much as possible. I abstain from the news and from social media as well as toxic environments. I do hope you will continue sharing your thoughts and your experiences of integration here at the Nexus. I hope to see you around. -Pandora "But even if nothing lasts and everything is lost, there is still the intrinsic value of the moment.
