Hello to all! I'm a recently retired veteran that's excited about my new life to come and the opportunity to finally explore what I wasn't allowed to for the last 25yrs. I'm focused on magic mushrooms right now, but I'm also VERY open to more!

I grew mushrooms once in college in the 1990's, we did the old PF Tek and it actually worked! I think we had a bout 3-4 out of 8 jars survive to a second flush, enough for all of my friends and I to enjoy a few trips! That's the last time I ever used psychedelics....

Now, I have started some outdoor woodlover patches since I live in a perfect area for them. I have patches of ovoids, azurescens, cyanescens and also subaeruginosa. I have began to grow the mycelium of natalensis and Tampanensis, and have an LC of pans to get started on soon.

Hi RescueU, I too joined DMT Nexus yesterday. I am busy trying to answer all the questions in the questionnaire. There are a lot of them, and many require some digging.

My wife and I grew mushrooms last year, from a kit. Never tried outdoors. It seems cool, but I would be worried about getting a poisonous one.

Yeah, I'm just here for mushroom growing info. I answered no idea for most since DMT isn't something that really interests me yet.

No one is meant to already KNOW a lot of those questions, it's purpose is to encourage you to do your own research, as it is the primary purpose of the site, wiki, and forum. I answered close to a hundred, and although a lot of it went over my head, I did learn a lot. A lot of those questions that went over my head (some still do) I have since learned during my time here in the last few months.

You'll see that I joined in 2019, but it was only to make a few posts and ask questions during my first run in with DMT. Just the last few months I have returned to the community and have really enjoyed myself. I've learned about new and happening strains of mushrooms, I've learned how to extract DMT from plant material, and am currently most intrigued about Harmalas(MAOI containing plants), and mescaline extraction.

First of all, thank you for your service! I have a very close friend who served and is also very big into psychedelics, I wish you a positive journey in exploring both the universe and your own mind.

That's ok if DMT isn't your thing yet. I experimented with mushrooms pretty heavily between 2004-2010, and did not try DMT until 2019, but boy oh boy is it fascinating! I rarely have time to trip balls for 6 hours as my life is pretty busy, but DMT is a short duration psychedelic (5 minutes, 5 minute come down, 20 minute after effects), so I've gravitated more towards DMT lately.

You can find our mushroom sub forum for identification, cultivation and other questions if you scroll down on the forum's main page, but I will link it here. Mushroom Forum

You won't be able to post in there until full membership, but feel free to browse and search. Full membership is contingent on continued quality posts, answering questions on the questionnaire, engaging with other members in the forum and chat, and being respectful. Stop by the chat some time. In the meantime, you can post your questions in the Welcome Area. Just make sure to use the search function as most questions have already been asked.

If you find yourself having a difficult time getting the information you need. There is a more heavily dedicated mushroom forum called The Shroomery. I can't speak for what the forum has been like in the last 12 years, but I was a prominent member up until 2010 which was the last time I dabbled in mushroom cultivation. If you need any help, don't hesitate to ask! Welcome.

RescueU,

Welcome to the Nexus! I am gratified to see more and more "older" folks here. By the time we put a few decades under our belts we are in need of a little healing, right?

May I ask, did you ever see active service in a field of war? And if so how are you dealing with the aftermath?

There is a LOT of great information here about all aspects of mushrooms and I think you will have a great time reading and researching. I hope you will also post and share your results as you proceed through your journey here.

Again, a warm welcome to you.
