I love that characteristic spice aroma. I think it smells like honeysuckle, and it reminds me of taking walks in the desert just after sunrise, when all the vibrant plants have their blossoms wide-open, pouring their delicious scent into the world.

Smell has that intriguing ability to trigger vivid memories. What does the smell of spice remind you of?

aromatic hydrocarbons...Laughing Laughing Laughing

ummm, it definitely smells floral, pre smoked, the vapors smell like age, the passing of time, old, mothballs, i dont know, death, but not in a rotting decaying sort of way, just in a passage of time way. I have really weird associations with the smell of spice, it's elusive...

I don't think I have ever smelled anything that even resembles or reminds me of it. It is totally unique to me. I do like the smell though, and even the taste when smoked - nothing like its reputation of tasting like plastic in my opinion!

I know what you mean about smells trggering memories. I find it amazing how smell can trigger very realistic emotional or atmospheric memories, sights or sounds don't seem to be able to quite capture a moment in this way.

I love the taste and smell too. Especially the pure white stuff! Its like some kind of a creamy de luxe smoke that nothing compares to.

On the other hand... Just dont let someone who dosen't know what they're doing burn spice into your machine, that was possibly the worst taste I've experienced, that and biting into a liquid paracetimol capsual.

Very unique taste indeed, I love it. Everytime I take a wiff of the spice it sends shivers down my spine.

I know what you mean. I don't know which plants they are, but there is at least one in my area that blasts out the scent like there is no tomorrow! I've often wondered if it is a spice containing plant. It's usually in a very floral / botanical area, so hard to pinpoint which plant. I can also smell hints of it in the pollen of many flowers if I stick my nose in there.

When SWIM is extracting, I nearly lose control once it's basifide, and you get those first faint hints of freebase wafting up through the steam. Beautiful...

Peace,

They once whispered it's an incense burning in temples just on the other side of the galaxy...then I proceeded to be the temple, after temple, after temple.

Muy delicioso...

I think it smells like a flower also; sweet and heavy.

I have always loved the flavor of the smoke as well.
Where did the comparison with burning plastic come from? I read that in several places after I had smoked a few times and wondered if I was doing something wrong because it tasted delicious to me.

That comes from people who don't know to vaporize the spice, and they burn it instead. It's a whole nuther story when it's burnt fo sho!!

hehehe....that is awesome. house- you're a great poet my brother.

the smell of freshly evapped spice is so delicious to me, i once cancelled a client i was going to train just because i wanted to get home an hour sooner so i could simply sit with my face in the jar and breathe....

freshly evapped spice crystals smell like donuts from the BEST bakery in the Pleiades. i've even found myself getting sexually aroused after sniffing it for a few minutes!! as if every part of my being was just screaming, "YES!!! OH GOD YES!!!"

seriously, if i could find a perfume that i could spray on me that had THAT smell...i would bathe in it daily. people would smell me from down the street. they would turn to one another with their third eyes wide open and the words would tumble from their fractalizing mouths....

"THE SPICEMAN COMETH!" Pleased

...hey...we all have our dreams... Laughing

funny you should mention that antrocles as i was pondering the possibilities of making a spice scented candle before i hopped on the nexus! i would burn them throughout my house daily! i do love the sweet smell of spice and enjoy the creamy taste of it as it drifts past my tastebuds in route to my welcoming lungs! i have however tasted the dreaded taste of burnt spice and find it to be disruptive of a good journey Sad
Who's this SWIM person and when do I get to meet them? They sound friken cool!

When I was smoking spice I did notice that my cat really liked sniffing the straw I had used to inhale the spice. Not sure what he thought it smelled like, but he would sniff it for 5-10 seconds at a time, which is very unusual for him (usually if he smells something new he sniffs for a few seconds at most).
