With mostr drugs, you can just get high, without anxiety and such, and you also usually get a bunch of negative side effects. However with these, you don't destroy your body, but it is not that easy to dose too.
Have you ever thought of meditating, or incorporating other lifestyle changes that have scientific proof of reducing general anxiety, like sleep hygiene or exercise? I know it's not much, but for some, even these steps can completely eliminate it, so it's worth a try imho
