I recently started sketching out some of my visions from my journeys. I have wanted to try and capture some aspect of whatever realm I visited. It is hard enough to remember everything that takes place but I have found there are usually one or two things that really stand out, so I concentrate on those. I have never drawn before so I am brand new to this, but as with anything the more one does it the better it will get.

Part of my preflight checklist is to ensure my sketch pad and pencils are staged near the bed. If something stood out on that trip I imediately grab my pad and start sketching. Here are a few of my recent sketches.

There are some very talented artists here. If you have anything you want to share feel free to share it here as well.

Not sure why the pics rotated, does any one know how to fix that?

Hi Cosmo D, that's pretty cool and a very similar approach compared to mine.
I too have a sketch book, just to quickly draw an idea or a pattern I saw. Later I use these drawings for something more time consuming.

I'm looking forward to see more Smile.
...no need to worry...

It's probably because your camera stored the image that way, with a rotation in the metadata so it looks right when you view it. Metadata gets stripped off images we upload here, so that rotation information was lost.

You can open the file in a graphics program and export it from there. GIMP for example, when opening such an image, will ask whether to rotate the pixel data on import as specified in the metadata. When you export, (not save, that makes GIMP project files) you can determine the file type by choosing a filename extension. I recommend .jpg or .png, i know some other formats are blocked here but am not sure which ones. There will be a different export dialog depending on file type - you can leave all the options as they are. The resulting file will be oriented correctly even after the upload.

Cosmo D, I really like that you wrote "fear is a liar". I've had many journeys and received the same message. I've also received messages to not beLIEve anything. Notice the lie embedded within.

Thank you. I will have to play around with that.

This is great! Thank you for sharing with us.

This is something that I've meant to attempt, but as of now, a lot of the more visual ones I do tend to remember pretty well (seeing a bunch in my mind as I'm writing this). I should still try to draw more of them though. Smile

Thank you Smile !

I have always enjoyed to draw, but lost my drive to do so sometime during my teens. I created things occasionally during the last decade, but when I discovered DMT about a year ago things REALLY got into motion. It's like I do no longer need "to make time" for drawing, it's more like I need to make time for other thing, as I spent a lot of time with pen and paper. It has become like an urge to create art and it feels so good!

Do it!

I started sketching as a way to document my travels and put some of these images that are near impossible to put into words on paper. My drawings are rudimentary at best, but as my sister told me, they only need to make sense to you.

Since I was a kid I have always had a hard time putting words to paper or even holding conversations. All the thoughts are in my head but they never quite come out right. I spend a lot of time formulating what I want to say then don't say it because I usually believe whomever I am speaking to won't understand. With that being said, that is the main reason I started a bit of drawing here recently. I have tried other forms of creating / artistic expression but I am liking drawing, I am just not very good at it YET.

Uhh yes, that's nice! I too keep on getting designs of patterns that resemble artwork I have seen in mosques and churches, but especially mosques for some reasons. I wonder sometimes were the creators of these mosaics have got their inspiration from.

The more I use GIMP, the more I love it. Today it proved to be the best FOSS tool for the pdf editing that needed doing. LibreOffice was, by comparison, well on the wrong side of Meh. (LibreOffice would probably be far better for pdf creation, though - I think it's important to make that clear.)

Paint may be marvellous but I can't really say as it's been a very long time since I used... the 'W' word Laughing

The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."
