Early entheogen interest

This is from the mid 70's. Found it cleaning out my garage.
I joined twice. The second time to get a list of suppliers.

Not really a useful list, I never really was able to obtain any chemical sacraments like I desired. Just Pedro, HBWR, Morning Glory, and other botanicals.

The most talked about chem was 5Meo-DMT, which was also the very first research chem to become available years later.

Pedro is a sacred thing.

STS is a community for people interested in growing, preserving and researching botanical species, particularly those with remarkable therapeutic and/or psychoactive properties.

In case not many are familiar, the Church of the Tree of life was an organization which made psychedelics which were still legal sacraments of the church in an attempt to make them remain legal for church members.

There had just been the ruling that peyote remained legal for members of the Native American Church while it was illegal for everyone else. The Tree of Life church was started based on that.

Apparently, just a short time before I became interested in all this, you could still mail order peyote. Cactus order forms which I purchased San Pedro from had peyote still on them albeit crossed out.

This appears to be the first company commercially distributing 5-MeO-DMT via the mail.
Early on they also sold grams of crystal mescaline for a brief period of time.

John Mann = Adam Gottlieb = Maryjane Superweed

Interestingly they used to have a Wikipedia entry until a "disambiguation" merged it with the contents on the Tree of Life page and it disappeared. The person in San Antonio who made the edits has not been responsive to my inquiry about why.

Rather honored to have Keeper Trout posting in my thread.
I had all the Mary Jane Superweed books as well. So many interesting things things in all those seminal writings. Some of them were even true.
Many, many inaccurate writings passed down for years to other texts word for word, along with the truths.
I remember reading with interest your listings of phenethylamine compounds actually proven to be found in various cacti.
Here is the Book of Sacrament's take.

Anyone ever actually gotten anything useful from Dona Ana?

(edited to add): I actually had a Sunami. When I finally ate the one decent sized cactus, it didn't get me sick... or in any way affected.
