Hi my lovely Nexus Members,

this is my first Post. And it is a technical question.
I will soon post something about me and how I got here. But now the question.

I want to make my first own Changa, just tried premade Changa before. Because I like to use oral/sublingual Harmine and THH before vaping DMT in small doses. I want my Changa to contain THH, too. But I have it only in HCL form. The best form for vaping is Freebase. In the forum I found different oppinions for vaping HCL alkaloids. Some say it is harsh / difficult to smoke, some say it works.

Can I use the THH HCL in my Changa and infuse it together with my FB DMT in the Herbs? Or do I have do convert it to FB? If I have to convert it can you give me a hint were to find the steps necessary?

I hope someone has ideas about this, and I am looking forward to share more about me soon.

I love you :-)

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

You don't want to be smoalking/vaping salts, especially something like HCL.

I brainlocked and accidentally used the salt (Don't remember exactly which salt/harmala) rather than the freebase to make changa once and the smoke was pure evil. There's nothing quite like taking a big hit and realizing your mistake as your throat starts to constrict and reality gets all wonky.
My flesh moves, like liquid. My mind is cut loose.

The good news is that the conversion is super easy. This works regardless whether you have regular harmalas or THH or a mix of them.

- Dissolve harmala HCl in distilled water. Use a little heating if necessary.
- Dissolve Sodium carbonate (NOT bicarbonate!) in distilled water.
- Stir sodcarb solution into the harmala HCl solution until it's all milky.
- If the resulting liquid seems somewhat thick, add more distilled water.
- Let the freebase crash out and settle. The liquid above the freebase will be clear and kinda neon.
- Pour off as much of the liquid as you can, then swirl to mix the freebase with the remaining liquid and pour it all into a coffee filter (or vacuum filter if you have that)
- When there's only solids in the filter, wash your glass container, add the solids back into it, add distilled water, mix well, pour into a new coffee filter. This is called washing, and you should do it at least once to get rid of most sodcarb residue.

The result is freebase that you can use for smoalking or eating.

EDIT: if you have ammonia, it's arguably better than sodcarb because you smell its presence (which means you'll know when it's clean) and it evaporates during drying if there are traces left.

That is nothing I want to experience. Thank you for the warning.

So I try the conversion, soon. I have Sodium Carbonate and Destilled Water handy. Looking forward to it :-)

Are the freebases (DMT, Harmine, THH) soluble in 99% ethanol or IPA? Can I dissolve them together and infuse the herbs in one go?

Thanks

Catching up on things a bit here (and a friendly hello from somewhere maybe near you...)

Freebase DMT is exceedingly soluble in both ethanol and IPA. The harmala bases are less soluble (the best alcohol for those is methanol Sick ) but you can still use a larger volume of ethanol or IPA. But it seems like you've worked this out already Very happy What preparation technique did you use in the end?

Hi downwardsfromzero,

nice that you ask. I have to say, that I did not try the conversion of THH HCL to Freebase, and not making my new Changa. As always in the summer I have a lot of work here to do, and there is no free space and time for this. But I hope to do so in the autumn / winter. I have enough already prepared Changa without added extra THH, just the Caapi harmines, left. Another point for not doing it yet is my family, kids and wife, who make it difficult to just "boil" some changa with scale and strange looking herbs and powders. My wife is a earthy gardener, who has nothing to do with drugs in any form including alcohol and coffee. (Just chocolate). She knows about my use, but is triggered Mad , if she sees it. Smile

Glad to hear you've been able to get by. What solvent did you use with your original batch of changa? How did you sneak that one past the wife? Doesn't she know, chocolate is one of the worst? Laughing

[This reinforces for me how lucky my situation is with an unbelievably understanding partner. It maybe helps that the kids have grown up alongside a jumble of plants and herb teas as well.]

It's sad how the drug war propaganda has permeated so deeply. I have some otherwise very open-minded - and experienced - friends in Germany who still react with barely concealed fear and horror if I begin to talk about Trichocereus cacti. There's still plenty of room for a liberalisation of attitudes in this corner of the world.
