Just wanted to introduce myself to this fine crowd i've been seriously creeping on the past few months, lol.
I'm pretty deeply experienced with psychoactive substances, with a particular interest these days in plant based medicines of all types. I'm Graduating with my Master's degree in Pharmacology this May, and am continuing Graduate school for my PhD past that, planning on specializing in Enthnobotany. I hold my undergrad as a dual Bachelors in Biochemistry and Botany as well. Hopefully i can guide you all along with my thesis journey I'm into the later stages of planning at this point.
As far as substances, i've grown up in this scene most of my life. While my parents were awesome and did their best to give me a "normal" life, they were deeply involved in cannabis and psychedelic culture as well. While they didn't tolerate my teen escapade with substances, it's pretty cool to be able to kick back and eat a fist full of mushrooms with pops these days. Cannabis has never been exampled as a "recreational" thing to me at all however, and they had me trimming flowers with the understanding it was strictly a medicine from a young adolescent.
Honestly, I'm incredibly fortunate to be where I'm at today. Between my upbringing, and a profound opioid addiction from 18-23, I've managed to beat the odds that most of my peers fell victim to as a result of our teenage/young adult decisions.
Currently, my use of substances is restricted to plant based things only. DMT/ayahuasca, Psilocybe sp, Cannabis, A. Muscaria, Cacao, Harmalas, Iboga, Kava, Lotus, Dagga, Kratom, the occasional addition of Datura/Brugmansia to a combo, and utilization of Papaver Somniferum on RARE occasions for pain - I have a chronic condition that otherwise warrants Oxycodone + from a doctor. However, it's manageable with Kratom and when I have surgeries, opium for a day or two immediately following.
Anyways, i'll stop rambling about my life at this point, i'm not big on coming off as a brag or glorifying substance use, only wanted to break some ice.
Hope to learn MUCH from everyone here, i LOVE the ethos presented so far <3
Without growth, what's the point?
