Just wanted to introduce myself to this fine crowd i've been seriously creeping on the past few months, lol.

I'm pretty deeply experienced with psychoactive substances, with a particular interest these days in plant based medicines of all types. I'm Graduating with my Master's degree in Pharmacology this May, and am continuing Graduate school for my PhD past that, planning on specializing in Enthnobotany. I hold my undergrad as a dual Bachelors in Biochemistry and Botany as well. Hopefully i can guide you all along with my thesis journey I'm into the later stages of planning at this point.

As far as substances, i've grown up in this scene most of my life. While my parents were awesome and did their best to give me a "normal" life, they were deeply involved in cannabis and psychedelic culture as well. While they didn't tolerate my teen escapade with substances, it's pretty cool to be able to kick back and eat a fist full of mushrooms with pops these days. Cannabis has never been exampled as a "recreational" thing to me at all however, and they had me trimming flowers with the understanding it was strictly a medicine from a young adolescent.

Honestly, I'm incredibly fortunate to be where I'm at today. Between my upbringing, and a profound opioid addiction from 18-23, I've managed to beat the odds that most of my peers fell victim to as a result of our teenage/young adult decisions.

Currently, my use of substances is restricted to plant based things only. DMT/ayahuasca, Psilocybe sp, Cannabis, A. Muscaria, Cacao, Harmalas, Iboga, Kava, Lotus, Dagga, Kratom, the occasional addition of Datura/Brugmansia to a combo, and utilization of Papaver Somniferum on RARE occasions for pain - I have a chronic condition that otherwise warrants Oxycodone + from a doctor. However, it's manageable with Kratom and when I have surgeries, opium for a day or two immediately following.

Anyways, i'll stop rambling about my life at this point, i'm not big on coming off as a brag or glorifying substance use, only wanted to break some ice.

Hope to learn MUCH from everyone here, i LOVE the ethos presented so far <3

Welcome Th3k1d93!

How have these plants (especially the psychedelic ones) affected your life and what do you think is their right use?

The more entheogenic specimens gave me a path to a legitimate spiritual practice that I otherwise would be totally lacking at this point. They also created a passion for niche academic pursuits for me to focus my life goals towards.

The use of Kratom and Cannabis has literally saved my life, in the ability to take care of a chronic ailment that otherwise ruined my younger life with extreme amounts of painkillers and associated hedonistic habits.

These days, I make sure I keep a close grasp on what one should consider to be the line between utility and abuse. If I'm going to utilize a plant ally, there is going to be a direct purpose for the engagement, and not just to "kill time."

As far as psychedelic experiences, I utilize Changa/vaporized DMT more than anything for time management reasons, but the occasional oral macro dose is planned and executed at least every couple/three months.

These days, i don't utilize stimulants aside from caffeine, coffee, cacao, and ephedra. I won't go near a sedative at all, and kratom/poppy pods are as close as I'll get to an opioid spectrum.

Without a harm reduction approach to self-management with the use of these plants, i honestly don't know if I'd be alive, let alone abstinent from the more destructive aspects of substance use these days.

Splendid introduction my friend, nice to see you're doing well and moving forward in life. These plant medicines help us all, and it's nice to see others giving them the respect they deserve!

What kind of lifestyle do you like, do you maybe meditate, or take cold showers, if I may ask?

Also a little nudge towards the chat room, in the upper left side you see a chat button, feel free to press it if you are semi afk and can have a tab open, it can be quite in the welcome area but if you are persistent and patient some good conversation do land occasionally Smile

Cheers and welcome!
A second chance? Huh... I thought I was on my fifth.

Hey mod/admin team - I got onto the site on my phone, where apparently I had login information from this old account stored on Google. I didn't realize I had a previous account still when I sighed up again for the new one, so if there's a way they can be merged, or one deleted, that would be awesome!

I'm a complete simp for anything in the natural world, lol. I'm an avid gardener, love fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, foraging, nature photography, rock hounding and mineralogy, and pretty much anything else under an open sky with fresh air.

As far as spiritual practices, Meditation is my bare minimum of daily practice. Just this past year I've began practicing cold shock + Wim Hoff breathing methodology as well, which has done wonders for my spiritual hygiene. It allows me to reach the same state of enhanced awareness that small doses of psychedelic compounds do, in a more coherent way. Combined with microdosing, it's been the biggest single catalyst for growth I've found.

Also, just wanted to vouch on this account for that last post I made above. I didn't realize that old account still even existed when I made this one, and I would love to either combine them into a single account or just get rid of the old one all together to keep this newer account I've started posting on. Sorry for the hassle!
