Hi i am Hug454, i used to be Hug46 but i lost my password and cannot for the life of me remember the answer to my security question.
Anyways i am back in the seed area for the time being so i will give a list of pros and cons of why i should be upvoted.

Cons
1: I do not really have any chemistry knowledge. I have learnt how to extract DMT from plant material but the real nuts and bolts of how and why i end up with my product evade me. i just follow the recipe.
2: There is a possibility that i may make political posts. I can't help that. This place is an oasis from all of the effluent on social media sites but i sometimes feel the need be able to discuss/argue/plead with others.... and you are the chosen few.
3: I can be argumentative and take the piss, allbeit gently. Although over the past few years i become quite insipid in my discussions. I maybe going senile.
4:I sometimes use curse words, but only when it adds to the narrative in a productive way.
5: I haven't done DMT in about 4 years.

Pros
1: I am oldish (54) and have a bit of life experience which can be beneficial when it comes to doling out advice to those that want it.
2: I am still fascinated with DMT. I first tried it when i was in my late 20s. Had a 15 year or so break and then got back into it by way of a friend directing me to this forum. The following few years of experimentation were very good for me. I became more thoughtful and i believe that it was a help in my giving up a long term opiate habit. I am certainly not done with my psychedelic adventures. My little fantasy is that when life stops getting in the way i can once again devote my time to exploration (as long as we haven't been engulfed in a nuclear winter).

So the cons outweigh the pros. I will have a go at the questionnaire although i seem to remember when it as first introduced as an april fools joke i was pretty lousy at answering.

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

We can have Trav recover your old account.

Alternately I can just promote this one.

Whichever you prefer.

Anyway, nice to have ya back. Thumbs up

So funny, kept thinking of you recently - even looking at the clock the time was something:46 nine times out of ten. Glad to see you're back Smile

Can't lie, I also was wondering when you'd pop back up. It's good to see you.

Thanks Fam. I had 2 computers with my account logged in on. One went down quite a while ago and then the other followed a couple of months ago, i thought to myself "well that's that, i don't really have anything of value to add anymore". To quote another member from a while back "all of the low fruit had already been picked".
But the truth of the matter is that you have been become my social media sight of choice. As far as the subjects of arguing with, laughing with, being laughed at by, discussing, learning from, sometimes insulting, being insulted by and generally watching our lives go by, this is the place for me.
Big up the Nexus massive.

So, I was going to post separately but since this thread seems related, I would like to ask members how often they actually take the time to have a good look at an active new member. This forum seems a lot less active than it used to be but still a treasure trove, and at the risk of seeming or sounding entitled, I'm curious to know how strict you all view the criteria and how much time is taken to promote new members who rigorously strive to engage with quality and abide by the attitude.

I'm inviting myself to criticism. Sure, perhaps I'm over-enthusiastic, and maybe impatient, but I would like to hear from people regarding the whole voting thing.

If you've not voted on me, why, or will you do so now after a look?
If you have, then thank you.
If you have voted against, please go ahead and help me grow and adapt, if there's room for that, and let's engage.

For a forum to grow, there has to be constructive criticism. So now that I've opened myself up to the topic without tiptoeing, I'd love it if the community would give me an evaluation and help me grow to the standards of this place if I don't seem to be meeting them.

I tend to be somewhat rigid in some regards and expect some real positive effort and thoughtful engagement on the forum. I tend to observe behavior around the forum more than anything else.

I was actually don't vote as often as I ought to. I'll be better about it.

I was already planning on taking a closer look at you. You seem to really want to add value, inducing your own growth and impacting others.

This thread has helped many with faster promotion.

Some other tips: engaging in the chat will get you noticed faster leading to quicker promotion. It can be slow in there, but hop in every now and then and see what's going on. Stay active and thoughtfully engaging in the forum. Continue to add what you think would be value to various discussions.

Be well.

My criticism is that if you'd read the content of this thread you'd have seen that it was an old member requesting his way back in after losing access to the forum, with a lovely pinch of wry humor as I perceive it. The ability to read through threads before posting in them is something that I (we?) value fairly highly in members, with a smaller amount of kudos going to those who at least admit they haven't been able to read through, maybe because of time constraints, or because they couldn't be bothered - in decreasing level of favour.

Every post by every member shows their membership status, when they joined, and when they were last active on the forum. If you take a look at those who are full members and only joined within the past few months, and have a read through their posts, it may give you some idea of the kind of engagement that brings swift access to full membership. On the other hand, they may simply have been extremely amusing in the Chat.

As far as making money writing goes, I wish you the best of luck. Just bear in mind that in order to experience any level of success writing trip reports, you'll have had to have gotten up to some serious shenannigans à la Krystle Cole (probably not recommended).

I did read the thread. Seeing that this thread already had the attention of active members and not seeing any particular reason to open a new thread is why I posted here. Since the problem or thread topic seemed to be solved, I felt like there was no "derailing".

Thanks for wishing me luck. I already write for a living, albeit often what I am passionate about. If my writing amuses or inspires even myself I've achieved the minimum requirement to call it success in my eyes. I also think that it's all about how you present your subject matter, right now I'm growing rather than refining my capabilities to write more about my personal interests in a captivating way.

I don't think one has to push the envelope much either, the most moderate dose at the right time in the right person can produce a story of profound levels of magnitude.

Then there's the example of Salvia Divinorum, which in my experience(emphasis on it being only my experience) generates baffling and interesting stories consistently.

I can recount countless stories I've lived that involve responsible use and created great stories.

No offense taken to my invitation for criticism being taken up at all. Just love and good vibes, and constructive dialogue, I hope.

DFZ's criticism read a little harsh to me and you handled it admirably.

Your posts look very good.

You already had half the votes you needed.

I'm gonna pull the mod override here. Welcome to full membership. Cool

Yeah, sorry if it came across as harsh - there was an undercurrent of humour that I chose not to highlight and the fact that you remained in good grace speaks volumes. Congratulations on your promotion! Glad to have you on board - your contributions are already a positive addition to the forum.
