Lophophora williamsii from Zamnesia

I grafted two seedling, top and bottom, into 4 Pereskiopsis; two are not looking too good.

Sown: 27/11/2021
Germinated: 03/12/2021
Grafted: 18/12/2021

I keep the grafting with the other pereskiopsis plant in a small terrarium with a heat pad at 25-28°C and high humidity. The first pereskiopsis cuttings were aquired on 26/11/2021 and had rooted and grown about 5-10 cm since then.

The other seedlings germinating, I'm waiting to acquire more Pereskiopsis for them

New year update.

I think I got some parasites. I am treating them with neem oil, which kills them it seems but also burns the leaves of the pereskiopsis

One Lophophora root graft did not take. The others are starting to bulge.

I identified the bugs as Thysanoptera, which is bad. I will continue to treat them with neem oil and insecticidal soap.

“There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."

Most of the grafts are growing. A couple are stuck.

I have acquired more pereskiopsis and I am planting the top cuts of the grafted one, to use them later.

I have sown some Pachycereus pringlei and I will graft them as soon as I have some pereskiopsis available, both the seeds and the plantings are even bigger than saguaros.
