So for 2022 I'm working on taking better care of myself.
I'm just looking for ways I can heal my dopamine receptors and improve my spiritual practices.
So far I have:
-eating healthy, possibly going vegetarian or vegan
-Raw Fruits and veggies diet?
-Getting back to meditating regularly
-Staying Hydrated
-keeping good company and fading away from toxic people

I'm also getting into buddhism (Pure Land). I like that it's simple and I can just chant "Amitabha Buddha"
But yeah the Jist of this thread is for anyone that wants to share methods of healing that works for you.
Thank you for your time if you're able to respond.

Honestly, exercise is meditative for me and typically an easier path to remaining present than by motionless meditation.

YMMV, however this has always been true for me since I was quite young. When a set or session gets difficult, increasing focus is required to finish out strong and naturally brings us closer to our own source.

In addtion, I think the endorphin reward from exercise is almost immeasurably valuable to our wellbeing and a healthy state of mind.

Sounds very much like my 2021 and I've been extremely happy about it. It has been spiritually tough, since I have had to face all the suffering I was postponing, but it's amazing to see how it's possible to grow and maintain a mindset and lifestyle that helps to stay grateful despite the hardships. Ayahuasca has been a huge blessing for me.

For 2022 I plan to face more things I fear and see what comes out of it. Maybe I could have a bit more fun too 🙂

Reconnecting with the church has honestly been one of my most positive and healing journies so far in my life. It's an ongoing process that started this year.
Also, faking it till you make it. Imagine an optimistic, open, charismatic, confident person, and then act like you are already that person. After a while one can begin to embody those traits. We are the sum of our habits after all.
Might only get 10% of the way to that ideal but it's 10% better than being totally hopeless!
I don't want comfort. I want God, I want poetry, I want real danger, I want freedom, I want goodness. I want a clever signature.

For me having a routine for the activities of my life is something that gives me structure and balance. There are multiple benefits to implementing routines in your life. One or two examples include having your chores done every day and keeping your body in shape.

That brings me to my next point research should be done on your body type and ancestry and you should prepare a plan for ailments that might come up. Putting funds away just in case of emergencies is another thing that goes along with your health (both mental and physical).

Try your best to connect with the things and beings around you. Connections are all around us but I am often missing them due to a lack of effort and inattentiveness. This is something that I am working on.

Figuring out things about yourself that you are not happy with and putting step into making changes. For me it was a year and a half ago when I decided to drop my unhealthy fat.

Stay away from harmful substances. Your mind and body are a gift from god but they are also mechanical things they breakdown from use and the get old.

Lastly, Having some thing that you looking forward to. It can be good motivation when you are trudging away in the middle of the week to have something to look forward to.
May wisdom permeate through your life.

I love this post. I had an episode yesterday, a near total breakdown in fact. It was a startling reminder that meditation and kriya will not heal trauma wounds, and if I let my self care slide, I will end up upside down. So for me, a lot of parts work, loving on the hurt little kids inside. Even writing this I am still very much emotionally raw, but I have been working non-stop to sustain some peace today. I did my morning spiritual practice rituals this morning, and since then I have meditated a few times, cried a few times, caught myself judging someone and quickly switched to love (what goes out comes back in be it love or fear), caught myself saying "F***" which I take as a sign of mild agitation and do some deep breathing. It is literally an all day tight rope walk while spinning plates, but it is doable. It just takes awareness to start, then action when you catch something that needs attention, loving attention. I speak to my internal parts as if I were a loving father reading a bedtime story to my kids. The more I love myself and others, the more love showers upon me, so I havae been giving it my all to stay in love today.

Just want to say that the meaning and depth of your vulnerability is very beautiful my friend.

And I am certainly with you in walking my own tight rope regularly.

Nice share. Healing dopamine receptors & brain cells have me curious too. I'd like to aim for more healing for my brain having experimented quite a lot the last couple years. Mushrooms and cordyceps have some promising stories for helping brain health and recovery.

More nature, exercise, whole foods, meditate and breath are on the menu too!

Hello folks,
This is all great news, I appreciate all responses.
2022 will be a blessed year for all the Earth. Lets ring in the new year with upper-dimensional energy;
Let's make sure we spread these vibrations to those who are still suffering-those who need it most.
I pray we can usher in a golden age; Big Pharma can introduce legal and healthful tryptamine pharmaceutical (antidepressants)
within the next decade. I have hope for the future of all mankind. Let's do our part to spread love throughout the Earth and beyond the Galaxy.
Thank you all for sharing your love and light with me (us)
All the best,
Guardian

I think all the suggestions are great. Hereā€™s some of the things Iā€™ve been focusing energy on as my wellness practice that have been really working well for me:

1. FIRST AND FOREMOST-SUPPORT, SUPPORT, SUPPORT!!! In the absence of a good social network IRL, I began building a network of professionals to support me in my healing. This includes a trauma-informed therapist who I chose for the techniques she uses, a magician of an acupuncturist who gives me lessons in Tao during our sessions, and a chiropractor to address ongoing pain issues. Every week I take a self care day to see one of these on a rotating basis.

2. Social Support- probably the biggest consequence of my trauma has been to cost me the ability to connect with others and as I engage the work, I have made efforts to reach out to people from my past who are doing things I admire and with whom Iā€™d like to connect and exploring options to socialize by going out more often.

3 Reconnecting with my spiritual background. Every morning I begin the day with a passage from the Tao Te Ching, I Ching and a three card tarot pull. This gives me time in the morning to center myself, and I take a few minute to ponder. Through the day they will return to me as I face the challenges the day brings.

4. Eating well. This is individual nobody needs the same diet and I am actively trying to gain weight while changing up my diet from meat based to one with more variety.

5. Staying focused on the small steps I take to get to the places I want to be rather than be attached to a particular outcome. This change in thinking has been huge for me. After this year when my need to control outcomes that are impossible to control literally almost killed me, I just had to let go. I find that this paradigm shift does anything but give me less control- in reality it keeps me focused on all the little things I do along the way. As my acupuncturist says, to cross the street, first the universe must be created.

6. Knowing that Iā€™m the master of my journey. Just that. I know myself, better than anyone, and I know whatā€™s good for me and not so good for me. So learning to listen to a voice that unfortunately learned not to be the loudest one in the room. Or, screw the haters to be simpler.

7. Let things be good. Easier said than done. The universe does indeed provide. In fact that is literally all it does. For us poor saps it gives us exactly what we want and need. Finding that alignment is the hard work, to wanting what I want, IYKWIM. You know that be careful what you ask for stuff. If you really are in tune with what you want deep down, no need to be careful, shout that intention without fear that it will bite you in the ass. Just gotta love yourself first, thatā€™s the rub.

I recently started engaging in the trauma work that Iā€™ve either neglected or not has the resources to pursue for all of my adult life. I know this is particular to me and Iā€™ve catered my practice to what works for me.

As for the trauma work, besides my therapist, the things that are helping the most is doing work around and with Non Violent Communication as taught by Marshall Rosenberg. I absolutely love this stuff. It is so much more than being able to resolve conflict. The real task involved is to learn emotional fluency and agility. As a traumatized person, emotions are what I sought to avoid for a very long time. Learning how to name my feelings is huge for me.

Ask if this is just the present state of an ongoing process of just trying to be the best me I can be. By keeping that idea in my attention I hope to be able to have what I want, namely peace, ease and stability and all the things that support that. This past year has been probably the greatest teacher of my life and it took me awhile to become a willing student, but Iā€™m hoping that Iā€™m getting what time, the universe and experience within them are trying really hard to teach me- to accept the love that all of those things offer and stop fighting it.

Hereā€™s to cautious optimism.

To be merciful in my long windedness, Iā€™m all about the axioms, and Iā€™ve added two to my list recently:
TLDR:

ā€œIt could be worseā€. This isnā€™t really an axiom, itā€™s more of a mantra. It works, try it. It can deliver me from some serious cases of ā€œF this Sā€ to deliver me into a place of gratitude.

ā€œNon Servium in Ministeriumā€ Google translate it, I did. ā€œServe under none, in service to allā€ is what it means to me. A modification of Discordian dogma.
