Here's the lovely-smelling result of backsalting my used Heptane before I distilled it. Shame I couldn't get in there closer with my macro lens, but as expected, I couldn't get the xtal cluster out of the beaker without breaking it apart. Oh well! Hmm, how about a different type of xtals? I was addng sodium hydrixide solution dropwise to a mini-A/B, and happened to catch the point where I neutralized all the free acid.
The aqueous phase stayed cloudy like this for about five minutes, before enough spice dissolved into the heptane for it clear up again. Then I just repeated that process until no more product crashed out. The NPS is in the freezer now. 😍

The NPS is in the freezer now. 😍 Gazing in awe to a little recipient is part of the whole, and this kind of attention during brewing is actually considered valuable in mere shamanistic approaches, they sing icaro's to their brewing aya, blowing mapacho smoke over it, rattles and intentions galore. Does it work? Can't hurt for sure and somewhere somehow there's still that playing child with big open eyes being mesmerized that is (hopefully ) in all of us.
