I am still a noob... but I am curious ... I vaped 12 mg in a mod and I did not find it harsh at all. I didn't breakthrough but definitely had OEV and CEV. Has anyone else had lingering smells of the spice? I actually enjoy the smell and I just smell it very distinctly from time to time. I has been over a month since I did it.

I don't necessarily smell it, but taste it in my mucus. This was a post from a few months ago, but there's some information that may be pertinent to your question to be found here. One love What if the "truth" is: the "truth" is indescernible/unknowable/nonexistent? I smell it all the time when I am out in nature and am near to or brush against certain plants. Maybe we are tuned into the smell now and sensitive to it and as Shulgin says in TIHKAL DMT is everywhere in the natural world. So we shouldn't be too surprised we get it's scent occasionally now we know exactly what it smells like.

I think there are a couple of threads on this back in the dusty archives of the Nexus. I totally get this too. There are a few things in my regular life that are olfactory doppelgängers. One is my Meyer lemon tree when in bloom and the other is a honey locust tree in my neighborhood when it blooms, and the springtime breeze around here just gets me drunk with the smell of it sometimes. The more chemistry adept Nexians often refer to the smell as being a property of indole. And while I’ve definitely found myself subject to the phenomenon linked to by Voidmatrix then subsequently linked by Jozeh, I find I have other strong associations around my olfactory memory centers. In the days and weeks following a journey with the molecule, anything that reminds me of hyperspace is often followed by that unmistakable scent. And, as is my current condition, when I haven’t been in that space for some time and I get called back by a little reminder in the air. There are plenty of flowers which will remind us of the DMT smell. Too many to list here, in fact. And one morning I turned up at a fresh mown football field and the unmistakable smell caused me to seriously consider filling up a sack with the grass clippings. The shredded litter and dog faeces were all that stopped me “There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work." ― Jacques Bergier, quoting Fulcanelli

I also smell it from time to time, not too often but quite regularly. I like the idea of plants using dmt as a comuniaction but sometimes even exausts of cars remind me of it. Im not sure if im "backfalashing" the smell or if im actually smelling dmt / something that smells like dmt. All i know is that i wasent smelling it before hitting a pipe, at least i was not recognizing it. If you smoke it right, you can't hold a pipe.

Ha, I thought I am weird for smelling my DMT from time to time. Maybe I am.... maybe we all are . I guess it's a matter of perspective. My DMT always reminds me of the smell of roses. VERY pleasant and always familiar. ...no need to worry...

There's also a rooting gel called Clonex that is very reminiscent of the DMT aroma. Hence why I love smelling the bottle lmao. I once had some business in an electrical supply warehouse and the smell of it was overwhelming - anyone have a clue on that one? "We dance round in a ring and suppose, while the secret sits in the middle and knows." Robert Frost

I can sometimes taste something about 65-67% similar if I suck on my teeth when they're in need of flossing (due to skatole it seems).
There's a plant (forgotten the name) that grows in abundance on the roadsides near me, and during spring/early summer its aroma is a 100% match. Hah thanks! I totally brain farted again and said indole when I meant skatole. I knew something was wrong with saying indole when I thought of asking downwardsfromzero if he’s sure it was the grass he was smelling at the sheisseplatz but I couldn’t figure it out. roninsina - Both indole and skatole have a faecal smell at high concentrations which gets flowery at low concentrations. Almost but not quite very pure DMT will smell absolutely gorgeous because of this. Fridge wrote:My DMT always reminds me of the smell of roses. VERY pleasant and always familiar. Sounds like some nice, pure product. Voidmatrix wrote:There's also a rooting gel called Clonex that is very reminiscent of the DMT aroma. Indoleacetic acid, indolebutyric acid or maybe naphthylacetic acid will be the culprits, depending on how pure the DMT is that you're accustomed to. “There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. I love the talk about smells and scents. It's such a underrated sense, and under studied I think. I've always been into smells, bringing scents back home from my travels (on earth, not hyperspace that is). I've also looked into the science on that sense and found it really interesting how little we know. Anyhow, regarding DMT. I find that I get a somewhat similar reaction in my body from smelling DMT (in a everyday situation, not when I'm taking it) as when I smell a really potent chili. It's tickling somewhere up in the brain stem. I love hot food and in some sense it's similar to DMT. It can be extremely intense and you might question why you are doing it... but then you just want to get into it again I guess the body reacts with a mix of fear and anticipation. And more that that. A really strong fruity chili has a wonderful smell!
