Hi JB, Salvia can be used as a medicinal ally. More "traditional" ROAs, quid or sublingual tincture, offer integrable congress with this power plant. Smoked, extract enhanced leaf, is typically exponentially too overwhelming for useful therapeutics.
One usually needs to practice a bit with quids or tinctures, in a dim quiet setting, to realize the intercourse with the, "shy deer".
I will report that a session or two with smoked extract, can initiate one into the Salvia "headspace" such that subsequent visits with gentler ROAs (quid, tincture) are more recognizable. Something referenced as, "reverse tolerance". Likely NOT pharmacologic, but psychologic! Once familiarized with the bizarre nature of Salvia psychotropics, recognizing the more subtle realms is not difficult.
The distinct grounding in a persons visceral, organic, mortal and physical nature of being, can indeed impart an aversive sensibility toward somatic substances like, tobacco, alcohol, opioids and cocaine.
