Although this scenario didn't take place in reality, I was not asleep either.

I was in a hot bath, sitting upright, maybe about to get out, but I don't remember.
There was deep 'DMT-activation' meditative music playing in the room and I was attempting to access some other state of being at the time.
Some weed had been smoked just prior to the bath, and a micro-dose of spice hours earlier that day (about 5 or 6 hours).

Somehow I found myself in a tree, somewhere hot, looking at the ground below, when my heart sank into my guts.
Approaching the tree was a leopard, with a small, dead gazelle in its jaws.

I was afraid at first, but then on hearing the yips and yaps of approaching hyenas, I also feared for the Leopard.

It leapt and leapt but try as it might, it couldn't reach the lowest branch with its kill, and it was determined not to lose its meal.

The sound of yipping grew closer and the leopard grew more desperate with it.

I didn't want to witness this graceful animal being torn apart by the hyenas so I extended an arm, and somehow managed to pull/help the big cat up to the branch I was on.

It snarled at me around its kill for a spell, while the hyenas lopped around the base of the tree, but as the clan grew bored and left, the big cat seemed to relax and accept my presence.

After this immediate danger had passed, there was a montage of sorts, of a period of time passing (maybe only days), during which the leopard fed me raw flesh, growling at me if I refused or hesitated to accept the offering.

I became suddenly aware that I wasn't alone in the tree, but that three or four other people were sharing it with me, although they were vague and indistinct as far as I can recall.
They laughed at the strangeness of the situation, of being fed by a leopard, which is the last distinct impression I can remember.

I don't recall entering the trance or exiting it, but I remember being very surprised when I 'came to' in the cooling bath waters.

Unsurprisingly, I've been more 'receptive' to the topic of Leopards since, and perhaps as such, I'm encountering the big cats everywhere, though thankfully not in person, threatening me with raw flesh.

Does anyone have an explanation for this experience?

I hope it's okay to place links here, but if not I'll delete it. Anyway, here's the music I was listening to when it happened;

Fascinating report. It is what it is, and it's your journey. The sense you make of it is a matter of time.

I'd caution against entering a deep trance state while in the vicinity of water. The risk of drowning is very real. Did you have a sitter?

“There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."

I agree 1000% with this. I nearly aspirated during my last psilocybin journey, if it wasn't for my wife I wouldn't be typing this.

Sorry, double post. I think it has something to do with the VPN. As to the meaning behind your visions OP - I personally stopped trying to dissect visions and just loom for the underlying message for the most part. On my most impactful journey me and all of my pets and family were reincarnated several times over and the message that I got from that is to not sink into despair when one passes away, they will return as they have since the beginning. Darker visions are always tougher, in one a friend of mine murdered my wife but then I saw how our father's mistreated us and how I was just better equipped to handle the trauma and it made me empathetic to him even though he had just murdered the person I care about most. Kind of deep.

That was awesome.

Things like that can happen for a variety and a combination of reasons. Cannabis can be psychedelic, you could've already been receptive to that sort of experience so it manifested for you, the combination of DMT plus the cannabis potentially releasing more endogenous DMT into the body through another mechanism, etc.

Ultimately, it'll be you who figures out why it happened. Meditate on it.

What if the "truth" is: the "truth" is indescernible/unknowable/nonexistent? Then the closest we get is through being true to and with ourselves.

That does make perfect sense, in interpreting your journey as it makes sense to you.
After doing some research, I suspect that this is my animal guide, although as you say, everything is open to interpretation.

Just to clarify, the spice was smoked in the morning, and the bath was in the late afternoon, in case you think I'd be foolish enough to do that IN the bath. I believe someone once drowned in that situation, and got to stay in hyperspace for real.

I hear you on the deep trance-like states though. I think I'll leave these to times when I'm in bed, where I'm safer.

I was alone, although I want to stress that the spice was long out of my system before the bath.
Still, though - I hear you, and I'll leave these deep experiences for when I'm not in a potentially dangerous situation.

You're a very luck person indeed, by the sounds of it. That's beautiful that your wife effectively saved your life. What a bond!

That's the message I keep reading in trip reports or near-death experiences - that this all just keeps repeating and that it's all okay.

That second example is certainly dark, and it does indeed take a lot of empathy to see from a radically different point of view.
You have a real gift there, by the sound of it.

As for my own message - I suspect that this is an animal guide, for want of a better term, and...

Literally, as I typed this, I realised what the message means (I think);
Recently, I've stopped subscribing to all the left-wing media that I thought defined me, and instead cast off my political viewpoint, in favour of a no-political affiliation. Left or right-wing podcasts and the like only seem to deepen the divide and revel in our differences rather than our commonalities, for me anyway.
To me, we ALL need to find our common ground in order to resist the real enemies (so to speak) i.e. big business and governments.
I guess this vision represents myself working together with someone very different to myself (the leopard), and that only together could we triumph in a harsh environment.

It's a loose idea, but this seems to be too much to be coincidence, and I'm noticing a lot of sychncronicity just now.

I gave the wrong impression, I think. The spice was consumed about 6 or 7 hours before the bath and the weed, but it undoubtably played its part as well.
Spice, along with meditation and grounding, is reshaping my outlook with almost every passing week, and I usually only become aware of my viewpoint shifting after days of reflection.

The message/meaning of the vision came to me while responding to Dirty T's post in this thread.
Just talking with you folks has already made something I couldn't make sense of, seem clear.

One love, indeed.

That's absolutely awesome. You seem to have a pretty good grasp on things. I, myself have discovered over the course of the last 4 years that I am a true Empath. I empathize even with people that do the most horrible things. It was hard for me to recognize it but I saw the same thing in my wife which is what showed me the truth about myself.

I would like to encourage taking your time and integrating as much as needed. Some experiences, heavy or mild, may need very little integration, while others, heavy or mild, may necessitate a great deal of integration. Listen to your intuition.

With regard to your statement on politics, I feel that. The polorizing nature is saddening. But I think it hits a core human failing that we still have a long way to progress from, in that one should be able to be affiliated without being categorical in their disagreement with any other side. I would be considered "left-wing" simply because of my stance on a few select topics. However, I tend to find there can be things that I agree with on any side, provided I maintain an open mind.

The world needs empaths more than anything else right now, I'd say.
Like you, I'm also of that persuasion, although I identify more with animals than with my own species, likely a result of being misanthropic for most of my life (until recently).

It's been hard for me to fathom the duality of people, i.e. how a matador can torture animals to death for entertainment during his 'day-job' then be a loving husband and father to his family afterwards.

Accepting ALL aspects of people is something that I'm making good progress on, but have a long way to go with.
It sounds like you've got a good head-start on the rest of us. If only you were a blueprint for society.
