I gave all my chemicals and a few glass pieces to a friend to hold after my last mescaline extraction and got them back today as I just got some more chips but the top of the xlene can is rusted and he was saying it was left out for a few weeks.Just wondering if it is still good.If not I'll just got get another one but just trying to save the 15 bucks.

Thanks

Location: the lab
it should be fine, just filter it; separate if any water got in it. redistill if possible.
xylene oxidation would require acidic conditions and a catalyst, like cobalt acetate.
