I am embarking on a 6 day solo adventure into the woods. I’ve just finished packing up my gear. I’ve put a lot of internal (and external) energy into this adventure. My main objective is to quit cigarettes. That’s where this all started. But as I’ve prepared, and the time has drawn closer, I’m excited to be alone with my thoughts and nature. (And a nice box of psychedelic goodiesWink ) This will be the longest time away from my wife since before our kids were born. And the longest time away from my kids without a music festival distracting my thoughts from them. Really, this will be my longest time alone, ever.

You could call it a soul search. Or a walkabout of sorts. But either way, I think it’s been a long time coming...

So I will chronicle my adventure in my journal, and transcribe what’s worth sharing here when I return. As with many of my journeys, my family and this community will be in my heart. I love you all and I’ll see you on the other side...

First, I'm jealous! Something I'd like to do myself at some point.

Sending you energy for smoking cessation! And good for you for making the choice and putting in the effort. It's a hard habit to kick. I'm a vaper, and enjoy nicotine, so personally wouldn't be able to do unless absolutely necessary. I commend you.

What specific goodies are you taking with you my friend?

Taking any books or sketchbooks along, or mainly planning on venturing and meditating in your seclusion?

Sending love and positive vibes that you stay safe and have a healing overall experience.

Love

One love

Sounds absolutely wonderful! That is one thing I miss about my younger days of traveling from place to place. The days and nights sitting out in the forest, with nothing but myself and the woods. Maybe a friend or two at times, but a lot of times it was just me and the crickets chirping. I long for it these days. I also have the wisdom now to know that I had been doing it wrong. I was numbing my senses with alcohol in a lot of these cases. I like the term "walkabout"! It gives on the sense that you are not just camping, but will be doing some wandering. "Hiking" sounds too A to B as far as I am concerned, but "walkabout" gives me a mental image of one just letting the wind take them where it shall. I wish you the best of luck on your journey. May the cigarettes be a distant memory, may your travels be safe, and after your days of wandering, may you find your way home.
May we continue to be blessed

I appreciate the energy towards kicking the butts Void. I’ve tried many times, which is sorta where this came from. Hoping a week of no chance of smoking plus focus and intent will be enough to survive coming back to the world and staying quit.

I’m starting off the week with a resin extract of around 50-60g Pedro. Then some fungus. I am planning on breaking up the middle of the week with some pharma. Then another fungus trip, and cap it off on the last night with some beautiful looking mescaline I extracted when my wife and friend or two come out. And of course the spice will be sprinkled in throughout as the call arises. Lineup subject to change.

I plan on getting primal...

And yes, I’m bringing a sketchbook, a journal, a mushroom field guide to practice ID’ing, and my ocarina. And whole lotta wandering.

Thanks again for the love Void and shamanisticvibes. Laterz

thats great man! ever since i had my kids, (5 years) i havent spent much time alone in the woods, but prior to that, it would be very unusual that i didnt spend most of every summer living in the woods, and 2 or 3 days alone very common. i can take it for granted because i live in a great place that people travel many miles to visit. almost every year, i encounter at least one person doing exactly what you are, and often develop friendships with them.. just about every day of my life i utilize the wonder of my surroundings to stay grounded and remind myself that my suffering would have to be quite extreme in order to lose my appreciation for my human experience. maybe youll run into me on your walkabout...Cool
Everything i say is fictional, I just wanna be cool and fit in.

maybe this is specific to me, but its almost as though the magic is in the water, creeks, lakes, meadows, springs, theres got to be water. and waterfalls rock! especially the ones that you could spend a day at without seeing anyone else.
